Surge Electric is seeking a premier Electrical Service Lead to spearhead our high-priority medical and healthcare service division in Utah. Our firm is a trusted authority in the Intermountain West, recognized for keeping life-safety networks, critical diagnostic tools, and hospital power grids running without interruption.

This position is designed for an autonomous, solution-driven diagnostic expert who thrives on technical challenges and values absolute precision. You will take complete ownership of field service operations across multiple healthcare environments, managing rapid-response installations and system overhauls. If you want a role where your technical expertise directly impacts community safety, backed by a stable contract pipeline and a guaranteed 3-day weekend every single week, Surge Electric has the perfect platform for you.

What You Will Be Doing

You will serve as the chief technical responder and field coordinator for our critical healthcare maintenance contracts:

  • Service Call Deployment: Coordinate, schedule, and execute complex electrical service calls, emergency troubleshooting vectors, and small-to-mid-size installations across multiple healthcare locations.
  • Real-Time System Diagnostics: Deploy advanced diagnostic capabilities to rapidly isolate and resolve power distribution faults, wiring issues, and equipment failures in high-pressure medical environments.
  • Technical Blueprint Analysis: Read, interpret, and cross-reference complex electrical blueprints, industrial single-line diagrams, schematic layouts, and specialized equipment schedules.
  • Regulatory Regulatory Stewardship: Guarantee all diagnostic, repair, and installation workflows strictly comply with NEC standards, local building codes, and rigid healthcare safety regulations.
  • Field Mentorship: Deliver technical guidance, training, and real-time field support to junior electricians and apprentices on active service calls.
  • Operational Reporting: Author and maintain precise digital service reports, asset logs, and closeout documentation utilizing company-provided mobile technology.

What You Need to Succeed (Qualifications)

  • State Licensure: An active Journeyman Electrician License issued by the State of Utah is strictly required.
  • Service Track Record: Proven experience handling high-priority commercial electrical service calls, facility maintenance systems, or rapid-response infrastructure projects.
  • Multi-Site Logistics: Demonstrated ability to manage shifting priorities and coordinate field operations across multiple physical job sites efficiently.
  • Analytical Problem-Solving: Elite troubleshooting abilities paired with an organized, detail-oriented approach to systemic mechanical faults.

Preferred Technical Competencies:

  • Direct experience servicing electrical infrastructure inside hospitals, clinics, or active medical environments.
  • Advanced working knowledge of building control systems, automated controls, and critical life-safety electrical backups.
  • Prior experience leading, mentoring, or acting as a crew lead for junior tradespeople.

Compensation & Premium Benefits

We reward precision, accountability, and field leadership with a lifestyle-conscious rewards package:

  • Competitive Hourly Pay: $29.00 – $34.00 per hour (strictly DOE) plus high-yield performance bonuses paid on a reliable weekly cycle.
  • Official Work-Life Balance: Generous 4-Day Work Week (Monday–Thursday) schedule—enjoy a permanent 3-day weekend every single week.
  • Relocation Support: Full relocation assistance packages are available to assist qualified out-of-state license holders with a seamless move.
  • Health & Security: Comprehensive Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and Disability insurance options.
  • Future Security: Robust retirement savings programs to support your long-term goals.
