Forward Deployed Engineer (AI/ML) - Remote | San Antonio, TX
About the Role
Join an elite AI team as a Forward Deployed Engineer, collaborating directly with enterprise clients to design, build, and deploy impactful AI and ML solutions. This contract role offers the chance to deliver production-grade AI applications, drive digital transformation, and shape the future of enterprise technology. You'll play a pivotal role as both a technical expert and trusted customer advisor, working remotely with up to 25% travel (all expenses covered).
Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and deploy end-to-end AI/ML systems in production environments for high-impact enterprise use cases.
- Design and implement AI agentic workflows, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, and scalable enterprise applications.
- Develop robust data pipelines and ensure seamless integration with enterprise databases and business systems.
- Lead solution architecture, prototyping, deployment, and post-production optimization for AI projects.
- Translate complex business problems into innovative technical solutions in close partnership with customer stakeholders.
- Champion DevOps best practices, including observability, monitoring, and AI governance for all deployments.
Required Skills and Experience
- Current Palantir Certification (mandatory).
- 6+ years in software engineering, data engineering, or AI/ML roles.
- 4+ years in customer-facing, consulting, or field engineering positions.
- Demonstrated experience delivering and maintaining enterprise-scale AI/ML applications.
- Advanced Python development and full-stack engineering background.
- Hands-on knowledge of LLMs, RAG architectures, vector databases, prompt engineering, and AI orchestration frameworks.
- Proven expertise in data engineering, including ETL/ELT pipelines and large-scale data integration.
- Strong DevOps skills: Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, cloud-native deployments.
- Exceptional communication abilities for effective collaboration with technical and business teams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with additional enterprise AI platforms.
- Exposure to advanced AI governance frameworks.
- Prior work in highly regulated industries.
