Job Summary and Qualifications

This is a management position responsible for the planning, development and operations of the Intensive Care Unit and 3 East Telemetry Departments. The Department Director assumes the role as a leader in planning, directing and managing the departments and staff to assure quality service 24 hrs per day. The Department Director is responsible for meeting JCAHO Standards, complying with corporate policy and procedures and for managing supplies and equipment in the areas of responsibility. Promotes teamwork with physicians and all health care providers and promotes customer satisfaction in all areas of responsibility.

What qualifications you will need:
  • Current Florida license as Registered Nurse or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions) 
  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited School of Nursing 
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date 
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date 
  • (RN) Registered Nurse
  • Minimum 3 years of Critical Care clinical nursing experience in an acute care Hospital setting 
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a full time ANM, Nurse Manager or Nursing Director in an acute care Hospital setting

We are an Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Primary Stroke Center. HCA Florida Palms West Hospital has emergency services, a dedicated New Life Center and a Level II NICU. We have a full-service Children’s Hospital. Services include outpatient rehabilitation, an aquatics center, orthopedic spine center, robotics, and interventional radiology.
