Job Title: Vinyl Department Assistant

Department: Production
Reports To: Vinyl Lead

This is a hands-on production role for someone who enjoys working with their hands, learning a trade, and being part of a team that produces high-quality signage. You’ll gain practical experience in vinyl preparation, layout, and application while working in a supportive, fast-paced environment where quality and teamwork matter.


Position Summary

The Vinyl Department Assistant supports daily operations within the Vinyl Department by preparing, cutting, weeding, and applying vinyl materials for signage. This role helps maintain quality standards, meet production deadlines, and support overall workflow.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential duties include, but are not limited to, the following. 

  • Assist the Vinyl Lead with daily Vinyl Department operations.
  • Prepare, weed, and apply vinyl materials for signage projects.
  • Stage vinyl materials and support quality control throughout the production process.
  • Measure, layout, and prepare vinyl materials for cutting and assembly.
  • Transfer and cut vinyl using computer-based cutting equipment.
  • Assemble and prepare color boards as needed.
  • Organize workload and meet deadlines set by the supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and core values.
  • Attend all required company and department meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Schedule and Work Hours

  • This position requires flexibility in scheduling based on production needs.
  • Weekend work and overtime may be required as needed.


Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months of experience in vinyl, signage, or production work. 
  • Ability to accurately measure and perform layout work.
  • Basic computer skills; experience with vinyl cutting software a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and meet deadlines.


Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Production environment with standing, bending, and lifting materials.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
