Requirements

Full time position on the Logistics Team as a Transit Truck Driver. Drive a two-axle, 26-foot delivery truck to our Denver Area stores on an established route. The hours are day shift, M-F. Some early or late or weekend work is occasionally required. The job location is Mike's Bikes Denver Distribution Center. You must pass a physical exam and background check. 

ABOUT YOU:

As the Transit Driver, you will drive our 26' two axle delivery truck between the Distribution Center and our retail locations and load/unload items at each location. You will safely and efficiently deliver finished goods, products, and materials in a timely and professional manner. Not only that, but you will become familiar with Mike's Bikes' company values and safety programs to ensure that safety protocols are being followed at all times.


The Transit Driver position will require you to drive four days per week while also involving help with duties around the warehouse.


WHAT DOES YOUR DAY JOB LOOK LIKE: 

-Learn and follow safety procedures when loading and unloading the trucks. Report new hazards to your supervisor. 

-Request help as needed when lifting heavy items.

-Load transfer trucks as a team member with other drivers and other DC staff as needed.

-Monitor transfer accuracy by checking transfer lists and performing required double checks.

-Perform basic vehicle inspection every day: Check all tire pressure indicators, check DEF fluid levels, check wipers, check that all headlights, brake lights and turn signals are working. 

-You will drive the transfer truck on an assigned route according to a schedule. 

-You must comply with all provisions of the Colorado Vehicle Code.

-You must comply with distracted driving laws, which prohibit use of handheld wireless communication devices while driving.

-You must comply with local parking restrictions.

-In the case of an accident or traffic violation, contact your supervisor immediately for further instruction. 

-Do not leave the truck unattended. 

-Re-fuel as needed using the company-provided gas card.

-Unload and load the transfer truck as needed at each stop, following procedures to maintain transfer accuracy. 

-Collect locked bags from each location and deposit them in a safe at DC. Complete drivers' logs as required.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

-Excellent customer service skills and communication skills. As a member of the Logistics Team, your goal will be to provide the best possible service to your colleagues located in the retail locations.

-You must be willing and able to put their needs first by communicating clearly and helping them when needed. Your friendly disposition will be needed to smooth the way to providing great service.

-This position requires you to pass a general physical exam

-Basic computer literacy. Demonstrate the ability to open a computer program, navigate with a mouse and input data with a keyboard and scanner.

-Must possess and maintain a valid class C driver's license and insurable driving record. Must report any traffic violations to your supervisor immediately.

-Excellent driving skills. Clean driver record and ability to maintain a clean driving record throughout employment, demonstrate the ability to drive our 26' foot box truck smoothly and safely. Ability to follow written map directions.

-Must hold required commercial driver's license appropriate for weight of vehicle to be operated and have the ability to step up into the truck repeatedly during a delivery route.

-Must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state department(s) of transportation regulations. Along with a Motor Vehicle Record Background Check

-High attention to accuracy. All bikes and products being loaded on the truck and removed from the truck must be checked out and in with total accuracy.

-Able to work unsupervised some of the time.

HOURLY RANGE: This compensation package will be dependent on experience, qualifications, industry experience and the interview with a potential range between $20-$22 per hour.


LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend and explain documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, in English.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for prolonged periods in a trailer cab, as well as having the ability to be able to travel frequently while standing, walking, using your hands and fingers to handle, or feel, reach above head with hands and arms, lift, push, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl, pull, talk and hear. Must have the ability to repeatedly lift up to 65 pounds' head high. You will hang and un-hang up to 60 bikes on hooks for each delivery. Vision may be corrected within normal range. The noise level in the work environment is loud.
