Job description

The Nursing Service Coordinator increases communication with patients resulting in increased patient connection/satisfaction; decreased missed appointments; decrease wasted medication; enhanced treatment compliance; improved early intervention; and increased RN job satisfaction by reducing administrative tasks.

*** This is an onsite position, the office is located in Washington, DC. This person would need to be able to be onsite during the week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00am- 4:30pm ***


Essential Job Duties:

  • Administrative support for the nursing department including but not limited to travel arrangements, lamination, document preparation, shipping labels, assigned meeting minutes, data collection/reporting, and coordination between nursing and RCM CM. ensure HIPAA compliant communication with providers, staff and patients.
  • Support patient in provider search options. Maintain provider listings and contacts with pump manufactures. Navigate and document within the Pentec EMR for communication of case coordination with members of the health care team.
  • Complete departmental audits and provide regional regulatory support.
  • Coordinate nurse patient visit confirmation; Facilitate, coordinate and document communication between nurse and patient; Enhance nurse-patient coordination including wellness checks/30-day calls when instructed and scheduling
  • Organize POT sent/received for completion and compliance tracking; Facilitate relationship between nurse and provider office including communication and prescription attainment support.

*Other job duties and special projects as assigned.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; 1+ year experience working in a hospital, home care or office setting as an LPN; understanding of medical terminology preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with the ability to work in teams. Dependable in attendance and job performance with good judgment and attention to detail.
  • Capable of working work independently with little oversight with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
