Summary of Job Responsibilities:
The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Case Management Support is responsible for performing the coordination and management of administrative duties for a Primary Care Provider (PCP) team as well as the wider Integrated Care Team (ICT). Working together with the core medical team the CMS is a primary contact between the customer-owner and ICT ensuring effective and efficient schedule coordination; verbal and written communication; information research and transfer; and system coordination.
This position has two (2) levels designed to provide progressively more responsible and independent work experiences. Progression between job levels is based on the demonstrated ability to successfully handle more progressively responsible assignments.
Qualifications:
SCF programs are established to serve a primary population comprised of Alaska Native people who are affiliated with Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI) and Alaska Native and American Indian people within SCF's geographical service area. Employees should have a thorough understanding of the cultures and the needs of this population. Such knowledge is critical to ensure the achievement of SCF's vision of a Native Community that enjoys physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness, and mission of working together with the Native Community to achieve wellness through health and related services:
1. High School diploma; OR GED.
2. Bachelor's degree; OR four (4) years of administrative support experience; OR equivalent combination of education and experience; OR demonstrated proficiency as an Administrative Support II at SCF.
Additional Qualifications for Case Management Support II:
1. Two (2) years of Case Management Support experience; OR demonstrated as a Case Management Support I at SCF.

Dental
The Dental Case Management Support (CMS) team serves as the vital bridge between our customer-owners and the specialized clinical care they need. We support a diverse range of dental specialties including Pediatric Surgery, Orthodontics, Endodontics, Oral Surgery, and Cleft Lip/Palate care-ensuring that every customer's journey is seamless, informed, and compassionate.
Our work goes far beyond scheduling. We manage complex referrals, coordinate travel and housing for those traveling for care, and facilitate communication between integrated dental teams. We are the first point of contact, dedicated to building lasting relationships with our customer-owners to better understand their unique needs.

Specialty Pediatrics
Specialty Pediatrics provides care coordination and support for pediatric customer-owners from communities across Alaska who require services from pediatricians and pediatric subspecialty providers, including Neurology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, and more. As a rapidly growing service area, Specialty Pediatrics continues to add new programs and subspecialties each year to increase the healthcare access needs of children and families.
The team is composed of Providers, Registered Nurse Case Managers, Case Management Supports, Behavior Health Consultants, Dietitians, Diabetes Educators, and Medical Assistants who work collaboratively to ensure children and families receive timely, coordinated, and high-quality care. CMS staff play a vital role in managing referrals, coordinating appointments, arranging travel, connecting families with resources, and partnering with Tribal Health organizations throughout Alaska.
This work provides a unique opportunity to support families from Native Communities while gaining broad exposure to pediatric specialty care. OBGYN
At OB/GYN we cater to the women of Alaska. Our clinic is a specialty clinic, meaning if a customer-owner wants to get seen here, they need to be referred to by their provider/region. We schedule appointments for varies GYN reasons and from a wide age range as well. We also deal with high-risk pregnancies from all over Alaska. All the way from the Aleutian chain, as far North as Utqiagivk, and Southeast Alaska, and of course Anchorage/Valley.
The CMS at OB/GYN are responsible for answering phones, scheduling appointments sent by the RN, scheduling surgeries, scheduling in office procedures, requesting travel, housing, meal, and taxi vouchers as needed. What makes us unique is we are a female clinic, 99% of our customer we schedule are female, we also schedule surgeries. Some qualities that well help you be successful her at OB is being present, be supportive, communicative, ask lots questions!
Gynecologic Oncology
The Gynecologic Oncology team provides specialized care for women diagnosed with gynecologic cancers, including ovarian, uterine, cervical, vulvar, and vaginal cancers, as well as complex gynecologic conditions requiring advanced surgical care. We serve patients throughout every stage of their cancer journey, from diagnosis and treatment through survivorship, while providing compassionate support to patients and their families. There are 3 physicians that rotate in clinic and 2 Registered Nurse Case Managers that you would work closely with.
Our multidisciplinary team works closely with surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, nurses, social workers, and other specialists to coordinate individualized care plans. Case management support staff are integral to our team's success by coordinating appointments, managing referrals and authorizations, facilitating communication between providers, assisting with treatment scheduling, and helping patients navigate a complex healthcare system.
Working in Gynecologic Oncology offers meaningful opportunities to develop expertise in oncology care, multidisciplinary coordination, and patient advocacy. Team members gain experience supporting advanced surgical procedures, chemotherapy, clinical trials, and long-term follow-up while working alongside highly skilled specialists dedicated to improving patient outcomes. There is also an opportunity to cross train with OBGYN clinic as part of your role. The work hours are Monday-Friday from 8a-5:30p.

Child and Family Developmental Services
The CFDS clinic serves children and families across Alaska who need developmental assessments, therapies, and family support services. Many of the children we serve need help related to developmental delays, autism, fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD), feeding and swallowing challenges, or recovery from injuries. Case Management Support (CMS) helps families get connected to care by processing referrals, scheduling appointments, sharing resources, and supporting care coordination.
Working in CFDS gives CMS team members the opportunity to learn about child development, developmental assessments, therapies, referral management, and family-centered care. Staff build skills in customer service, communication, problem-solving, and working with healthcare providers. Primary Care
The Primary Care Customer Service Management (CMS) team serves Anchorage-based Customer-Owners as well as Customer-Owners traveling from villages within the Rural Anchorage Service Unit. Each CMS is the primary scheduler for an assigned panel of approximately 1,200 Customer-Owners and plays a vital role in coordinating access to care. Daily responsibilities include answering incoming calls, conducting preventive care outreach, scanning documents into provider charts, managing the referral management system, coordinating Customer-Owner travel, and supporting a variety of administrative functions that ensure continuity of care.
This role provides valuable opportunities to develop expertise in Cerner and Microsoft 365 while strengthening multitasking, organization, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. What makes the Primary Care CMS team unique is its integration within an interdisciplinary care team, working alongside multiple provider types in a fast-paced environment that requires complex scheduling coordination. The team is also responsible for supporting 12 Population Health Measures and managing the associated action lists that help improve Customer-Owner health outcomes. Individuals who are most successful in this role are relationship-oriented team players who excel at multitasking, demonstrate strong time management skills, and can effectively prioritize and manage a high-volume workload while maintaining excellent customer service.
