During the internship, participants assist with patient care, sterilize instruments, take dental x-rays, and learn about office procedures. This real-world experience is crucial for developing the skills needed to become a competent dental assistant and can improve job prospects upon completion. Internships may be required for certification or graduation from dental assisting programs and often help interns build professional connections in the field.
