J+M Infrastructure is a Civil-Site & Utilities Contractor that excels in Civil Construction and Site Development Contracting with an emphasis on Utilities and Excavation.
We assist with new construction projects by performing demolition, clearing, excavation, asphalt paving, concrete work, water mains, sewer and storm drainage throughout central and southwest Virginia.
We are focused on building a team of dynamic, motivated individuals who are more than just employees but valued and respected players. People are our priority! We are experiencing incredible growth with multi-year projects now underway.
We are looking for qualified candidates to work on our construction sites located in Charlottesville and the Lynchburg, VA area.
Our ideal candidate has experience installing Water mains - Ductile & PVC, Gravity Sewer, Storm Drainage, Conduits & Duct Banks. This candidate must be highly motivated with a strong work ethic, possess a positive can-do attitude and be willing to get hands dirty and do whatever it takes to get the job done.
Work experience: 6-10 years.
Education Minimum: high school diploma or GED preferred.
Valid drivers license required, CDL preferred.
Skills:
  • Calculate, shoot, and set grade elevations.
  • Calculate volume/cubic yards of material and tonnage for stone.
  • Read survey and lay out stakes, read plans and blue prints.
  • Operate equipment effectively such as bulldozers, trackhoe, backhoe, loader, skid steer, roller etc.
  • Supervise and lead crew.
  • Manage and oversee job site and subcontractors.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a safe site, ensuring the safety of team members at all times.
  • Plan, schedule and executive daily tasks for site and crew.
  • Meet daily production goals
  • Work as an operator while still leading the site and crew.
  • Communicate effectively
  • Be able to pass drug testing as this is a drug free workplace.

Other Requirements:
  • Must be a Leader, willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done.
  • Willing to pitch in and get hands dirty doing whatever needs to get done.
  • Be highly self-motivated go-getter.
  • Provide solutions to problems.
  • Constantly seeking improvement for self and others.
  • Experience installing storm drain, water and sewer as well as demolition, clearing, grading, excavation, roadwork and asphalt paving.
  • Concrete experience preferred.
