Job description

Conco Construction, a self-performing regional leader in the commercial construction industry is seeking skilled craft workers in the areas of carpentry, concrete, masonry, iron, and heavy equipment operations.  Successful candidates will be driven, reliable, and team focused. Conco Construction is seeking a Construction Laborer to join our Cool To Be Blue program in Wichita, KS.

If you like to work hard and want an opportunity to grow at your own pace, we want you on our team. You’ll get hands-on exposure to the entire construction process, mentoring and clear guidance.

Our Cool to be Blue program provides opportunities to learn the construction process with a built-in trajectory for a career ranging from carpentry, steel erection/iron work to heavy equipment, concrete and masonry operations.

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

  • Ability to perform shovel work, demolition, concrete placing and general site clean up
  • Responsible for assisting with different trades as needed
  • Ability to meet quality expectations

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds or greater occasionally and 25-50 pounds frequently
  • Must be able to work outdoors and stand for majority of the day
  • Must be able to perform tasks while walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and handling

Additional responsibilities will be assigned based on experience and performance

  • Be on time to the job site

  • Be a team player
  • Have a strong work ethic

Other considerations:

  • All offers of employment are conditioned by successfully passing a background check, drug screen and physical capacity test 
  • Wages are based on experience and performance
  • Must be able to work outside the normal operating hours (7am-4pm, winter/fall 7am-3:30pm, spring/summer)
  • Employees are responsible for transportation to and from the job site

The following tools must be provided by the candidate:

  • Tool Bag (Includes Framing Hammer - Min 16oz., 25' Tape Measure, Nail Bag, Nail Puller, Quick Square, Utility Knife) 
  • Rubber Boots
