Civil Foreman (Environmental / Site Work)
Pay: $50 – $65/hour
Location: Concord, CA

Skillforce is hiring an experienced Civil Foreman who can run crews, stay ahead of the work, and handle the day-to-day in the field without needing to be micromanaged.

This role is a great fit for someone with a background in environmental or heavy civil work who’s comfortable managing everything from excavation and utilities to remediation and demolition. Schedule is Monday through Friday, averaging 45 to 50 hours per week.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Running field crews (typically 5–15 workers) on active job sites
  • Leading contaminated soil excavation, grading, and groundwater treatment installs
  • Coordinating daily work plans, equipment, and materials to keep production moving
  • Reading and executing civil plans, grading sheets, and utility drawings
  • Performing site layout using laser levels (grade, pipe, rotating, etc.)
  • Acting as the main point of contact between the field, PMs, clients, and inspectors
  • Managing underground utility installs including trenching, pipe, bedding, and backfill
  • Overseeing demo work including concrete, structures, and material disposal
  • Tracking production, quantities, and helping identify change order opportunities
  • Running safety meetings and making sure crews stay compliant with OSHA/site requirements

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years in civil construction, with foreman or lead experience
  • Strong background in excavation, utilities, grading, or environmental remediation
  • Ability to read plans and confidently direct crews from drawings
  • Experience with field layout and laser levels
  • Comfortable communicating with clients, inspectors, and project teams
  • Solid understanding of jobsite safety and documentation

Certifications Needed:

  • HAZWOPER (training provided if needed)
  • OSHA 30 (training provided if needed)
