What You'll Do
The Tech Rep - Baseball/Softball (Tennessee) represents the DeMarini, Louisville Slugger, EvoShield, and Wilson brands at tournaments and facilities around the country to serve players, parents, and coaches at baseball and fastpitch events. They are responsible for event setup, brand activations, driving product demonstrations, executing B2C sales on site at events, managing inventory, fulfilment/replenishment, communicating brand, product, and marketing messages, and further assistance as determined by Regional Sales Manager. This role will be based in the Nashville metro area.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Manage the ideation, creation, strategy, staffing, and logistics for branded baseball and fastpitch grassroots events. Collaborate with external resources (complexes, showcases, travel ball organizations, high school and colleges, etc.) and partner with internal resources (creative services, brand marketing team, product team, etc.) to drive product demonstrations and holistic brand experiences to create brand preference with consumers to support the larger business strategy.
  • Execute territory support initiatives at the direction of the Regional Sales Manager, partnering closely with the Territory Sales Manager(s) to deliver in-field activations, retail events, and program support across travel ball, high school, and college programs.
  • Provide analysis of event performance through metrics to key team members and use this to inform future activations.
  • Gather and report on player feedback as needed to assist with product development initiatives.
  • Monitor and analyze competitive brand activity (e.g., event presence, product releases, brand share) to stay up to date on changes/trends in the industry and marketing environment to best serve objectives of the business unit; provide recommendations to product, commercial, marketing, and sales teams from these findings to adjust strategies and plans accordingly.
  • Manage marketing assets and activations with vendors, sponsors, and partners to provide a best-in-class experience for our customers by partnering with event and brand Marketing teams in executing on site activations and ensuring brand and product standards are upheld.
  • Manage event logistics ensuring smooth retail and product demonstration operations while educating parents and athletes about our products, including new product launches.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local tournament directors, travel organizations, and coaches to identify additional opportunities to support business objectives.
  • Optimize budget to drive a strong ROI and enhanced value while ensuring alignment with organizational financial objectives.
  • Other duties as required.

What We're Looking For
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university and a minimum of 2 years of Sales, Grassroots, Customer Service, and/or Event Marketing experience. In lieu of a Bachelor's Degree, a minimum of 5 years of Sales, Grassroots, Customer Service, and/or Event Marketing experience.
Other qualifications include:
  • Understanding of business strategy and key business drivers
  • Former athlete and/or avid fan - ability to speak authoritatively and authentically about baseball and fastpitch (softball) in which they work as a means of developing authentic deliverables against a focused sports audience
  • Solid understanding of the following areas: Baseball and Fastpitch (softball) industry, promotions & sponsorships, and event marketing
  • Driven to understand consumer behavior and passion for the sport
  • Ability to think strategically and execute a plan with excellence
  • Strong communication and social skills to effectively present information, work with cross-functional teams, and network with the public to identify untapped opportunities
  • Willingness to create and drive change (entrepreneurial spirit)
  • Strong financial understanding with the ability to manage budgets and control inventory
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Self-driven to achieve work goals; high energy level essential
  • Travel up to 75% of the time.

A reasonable estimate of the pay range is $70,000 - $80,000 per year at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education, and/or training. Please note that the range details reflect the base pay only and does not include our competitive bonus program.
