Sr. Demand Planner

Role Summary:

This Demand Planning position is responsible for all forecasting activities related to customers and products. The Demand Planner creates and maintains forecast models for their customers utilizing business intelligence, and forecast information from sales, channel, and replenishment managers. Key objective will be exceeding customer service levels, forecast accuracy, and fulfilling demand planning role in the S&OP process.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit exceptional communication, follow through, and organizational skills
  • Assemble and analyze all data pertinent to creating the sales forecast (historical sales, market trends, seasonality, promotions, POS, and inventory levels)
  • Analyze forecast variation/deviation with the goal to minimize service issues and prevent the buildup of excess & obsolete inventory
  • Analyze account-specific trends to determine risk and opportunities by account
  • Achieve finished good demand forecast accuracy.
  • Maintain baseline/statistical forecasts, collecting forecast drivers and corresponding impacts on the plan to key stakeholders
  • Provide input into and participate in the monthly S&OP process
  • Collaborate with Sales, Channel and Finance on new product planning, promotional planning & market trends.
  • Utilize and suggest improvements to analytical tools and processes to support forecast development

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in demand planning, supply chain or similar
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field
  • Strong working knowledge of systems (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Effective leadership, communication, and analytical skills
  • Comfortable being collaborative and assertive when necessary to drive to intended results
  • Experience with Sales & Operations Planning is strongly desired
  • Experience with forecasting systems (Demantra, SAP, JD Edwards, Demand Solutions, Etc.)
  • Knowledge of major retailer systems, such as Retail Link or Partners Online is a plus
