Job Description

POSITION TITLE: Regional Sales Manager, Demag Drives - West

REPORTS TO: Vice President of Sales

LOCATION: Remote-based but must reside or be willing to relocate within WA, OR, CA, ID, UT, AZ, NV, MT, WY, CO, NM, ND, SD, NE, MN, IA, MO, WI, IL, KS, OK, TX, AR, TN, or MS.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform Business Development functions within an assigned territory to secure existing account base and cultivate new OEM account placements.  These duties include developing and maintaining proper business within your distributor network and OEMs to maximize sales potential in all product categories and distribution channels.
  • Provide long-term account management with technical assistance, product training, sales support, and other requirements as necessary to assure proper equipment specification and maximize sales effectiveness within the account.
  • Keep customers informed about available products, services, prices, programs, marketing tools, and terms and conditions relating to the account's product and distributor classification(s).
  • Evaluate existing and potential accounts and recommend changes or modifications necessary to maximize sales in conformance with company policies regarding distribution strategies and programs.
  • When required, prepare quotes for new product sales in conformance with company policies regarding pricing, discounts, and terms.
  • Recommend special terms, pricing, or other policy changes as may be required on an individual sale basis to assure receipt of order.
  • Meets established sales quota by obtaining new Demag Drives Products orders.
  • Keep the company informed of competitive products, promotional matters, sales techniques, pricing, warranty, marketing policies, and product innovations.
  • Control and report expenses incurred in performing functions monthly.  Maximize effective use of time and investment to achieve company and position objectives.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of all key customer activities in the CRM system.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

KEY ATTRIBUTES:

  • Highly motivated, Self-starter, works well with minimal supervision, strategic thinker, and has unquestionable integrity.  Strong Leadership skills.
Qualifications

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years of previous experience as an Account Manager, Sales Manager, or Sales Engineer for industrial/capital tangible sales.  Experience selling to machine OEMs is a plus.
  • Long-term sales cycle, planning, account management, and account service experience.
  • Engineering and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Long-term sales strategy development and implementation.
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Capital equipment and OEM selling experience.
     

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or demonstrated past work experience in industrial equipment and technical sales, hoist industry preferred.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • A driver's license and the ability to operate a company vehicle are required.
  • Must be very organized and have a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • This position requires good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be fluent in English (verbal and written).
  • Must be able to travel domestically up to 60%.
