Delta College is seeking instructors committed to the college's philosophy that education serves the greater good by providing students access to a better life. The candidates for adjunct instructor positions understand that community colleges are positioned to fundamentally change people's lives, and as a result, society itself. Are you interested in positively impacting students' lives? We are seeking collaborative, energetic, and innovative instrumentation adjunct instructors who are committed to student retention and success. Instructors are responsible for establishing and promoting an effective learning environment to maximize student learning. Instructors should be able to deliver course content in a classroom setting as well as in a hands-on lab setting to skilled trades employees including sponsored DOL apprentices.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Understanding of and ability to work with a diverse student population
  • Use of email, internet-based resources, and common Office software
  • Ability to teach in a variety of formats, including incorporating online learning systems
  • Understanding of ADA requirements and willingness to create accessible materials
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Understanding Delta Mission/Vision/Values

Specific course opportunities may include:
  • Develop and write course content including outcomes and objectives for approval by Delta College.
  • Develop daily lesson plans including instructional aids for future Delta College use.
  • Incorporate field experience and technical knowledge into student presentations that emphasizes interactive, hands-on practice.

Required Qualifications
  • Five (5) years' experience in Industrial Process Instrumentation
  • Associates degree in a related technical field or equivalent Journeyman's Card.

Additional Experiences Considered
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or education
  • Journeyman's card in instrumentation
  • Previous experience in teaching and class development
