POSITION SUMMARYThe Director of Admissions and Recruitment provides strategic leadership for the College's admissions, recruitment, and prospective student outreach efforts in support of Delta College's mission and Strategic Enrollment Management priorities. Serving the Great Lakes Bay Region, this position leads the development, implementation, and assessment of data-informed recruitment and admissions strategies designed to increase enrollment, expand access, and support student success. The Director is responsible for creating a student-centered admissions experience that is welcoming, efficient, and aligned with Delta College's commitment to equity, belonging, retention, and completion. The position oversees outreach and recruitment initiatives for traditional, adult, transfer, and other special student populations, while fostering strong partnerships with K-12 districts, community organizations, and internal campus stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:- Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day oversight for the Office of Admissions and Recruitment, including planning, staffing, budgeting, and assessment.
- Develop and implement recruitment and admissions strategies that support Delta College's Strategic Plan and Strategic Enrollment Management goals.
- Oversee admissions operations, application processing, onboarding, and orientation to ensure a seamless and student-centered enrollment experience.
- Lead outreach and recruitment efforts for prospective students, including traditional, adult, transfer, dual enrollment, and underserved populations.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with K-12 schools, community organizations, employers, and other stakeholders throughout the Great Lakes Bay Region.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate admissions and recruitment staff while fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
- Use data, enrollment trends, and performance metrics to assess effectiveness, guide decision-making, and improve outcomes.
- Collaborate with Financial Aid, Advising, Registrar, Dual Enrollment, Marketing, and academic divisions to streamline processes and support student success.
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies and applicable federal and state regulations related to admissions and enrollment practices.
- Serve as the college's Principal Designated School Official (PDSO), ensuring institutional compliance with federal SEVIS and international student regulations, issuing and maintaining Forms I-20, advising F-1/M-1 students, managing required reporting, and supervising Designated School Officials as applicable.
- Promote Delta College's academic programs, student support services, and career pathways through presentations, events, and community engagement.
- Support equity-focused practices that expand access, reduce barriers, and strengthen enrollment, persistence, and completion for diverse student populations.
- Represent the College on committees, at events, and in community partnerships, and perform other related duties as assigned.

Operational Oversight- Direct the daily operations of the Office of Admissions, including planning, organizing, supervising, assessing, and budgeting to ensure efficient, student-centered service delivery.
- Develop, implement, and improve admissions policies, procedures, and workflows in compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations and best practices.
- Oversee the full admissions and onboarding process, including application management and orientation coordination, to support a smooth transition into Delta College.
- Lead recruitment, outreach, and marketing efforts aligned with Delta College's Strategic Plan and Strategic Enrollment Management priorities.
- Collaborate with Financial Aid, Advising, Registrar, Dual Enrollment, Marketing, and academic divisions to streamline processes, improve service, and support enrollment growth.
Student Support and Outreach- Provide leadership in delivering accurate, student-centered guidance to prospective students and families regarding admissions, enrollment steps, academic programs, financial aid basics, funding opportunities, and student success resources.
- Plan and implement outreach initiatives, including presentations, workshops, college fairs, high school visits, community events, and orientation programs for prospective students and families.
- Oversee the admissions components of new student orientation to ensure students receive clear information, meaningful engagement, and a strong introduction to Delta College.
- Build and maintain relationships with K-12 schools, community organizations, adult education providers, and other partners to strengthen recruitment pipelines and expand access.
- Promote Delta College's programs, pathways, and support services through outreach strategies that foster belonging, reduce barriers, and connect diverse student populations to the college early.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in admissions, recruitment, enrollment management, student services, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing recruitment or enrollment strategies.
- Experience using data to guide decision-making, assess outcomes, and improve processes.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to student-centered service, access, equity, and inclusion.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the service area.
Additional Experiences Considered - Master's degree in higher education, student affairs, educational leadership, business, public administration, or a related field.
- Experience in a community college setting.
- Knowledge of admissions systems, CRM platforms, and student information systems.
- Experience working with dual enrollment, adult learners, transfer recruitment, or first-generation student populations.
- Familiarity with the Great Lakes Bay Region and its educational landscape.
- Experience managing budgets, enrollment communications, and staff development.
