The Gulf Region Sales Manager is responsible for coordinating Power Distribution sales for the South region (OK, NM & TX) by establishing and maintaining a solid working relationship with Investor-Owned Utilities, Power Public entities, Channel Partners, and Power Distribution sales agents, while attaining sales and profitability targets as outlined annually. This position is also responsible for supporting other Prysmian sales teams, such as Network Components, Alesea, EOSS, and Specialty. This role will involve working with external and internal stakeholders across multiple time zones.

This position reports to the Director of Sales – South and is accountable for sales, customer forecasts, contract management, inventory management, customer and partner business reviews, and selling of new technology and delivering results. This position requires significant account management with the ability to cultivate and maintain strong customer relationships.

As the Regional Sales Manager, you will be responsible for the following:
Market Research and Analysis:
  • Analyze industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies in the utility industry.
  • Communicate impactful market feedback to Product Management and Sales Leadership.
Business Strategy Development:
  • Develop and execute a sales and profitability plan for the assigned territory, inclusive of innovative products.
  • Identify and target new prospects.
  • Expand Prysmian cable sales (depth and breadth) within existing accounts, where applicable.
  • Participate in regional and national conferences and trade shows, as required.
Sales and Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain relationships with key customer stakeholders, including supply chain, engineering standards, project management, operations, warehouse, construction management, etc.
  • Lead contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and proposal development.
  • Perform and lead business reviews with contractual customers and strategic channel partners.
Manage customer forecasting:
  • Provide oversight of customer performance compared to forecast (forecast accuracy).
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work with applications engineering, product management, inside sales, account receivable, and R&D team members.
  • Ensure seamless communication between internal and external stakeholders.
  • Be the Voice of the Customer in internal meetings.
Performance Monitoring:
  • Track and analyze sales metrics, customer feedback, and market performance.
  • Coordinate resolution of customer issues with appropriate internal resources.
Sales Agent Leadership:
  • Lead and motivate sales agencies to drive profitable growth, strengthen customer relationships, execute regional sales strategies, and achieve assigned revenue and market share targets through coaching, accountability, and collaborative business planning.

Key Competencies:
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong understanding of the electrical transmission and distribution industry, specifically wire and cable.
  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.

  • Strong knowledge and experience with technology applications, such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and PDF.

Requirements:
  • Associate degree, Bachelors preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of B2B sales experience, preferably with electrical utilities, utility product manufacturer, or utility distributor.
  • Technical sales experience required.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%, as determined by Director of Sales.
  • Located within the assigned territory and within 60 miles of an airport.
