Work you'll do
As a Lead Software Engineer, on the GPS HST Technology team, you will be responsible for...
  • Designing, developing, testing, and implementing software applications and technical solutions aligned to business and mission needs
  • Translating functional and technical requirements into application features, system enhancements, and production-ready code
  • Supporting system integration, defect resolution, performance improvement, and application maintenance activities
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and client stakeholders, to deliver project milestones
  • Contributing to solution documentation, sprint planning, code reviews, and deployment activities across the software development lifecycle

The team
Deloitte's Government and Public Services practice serves federal, state, and local government clients, as well as public higher education institutions, on complex mission-focused priorities. Within this practice, GPS HST Technology professionals bring capabilities across strategy, technology, and operations to help improve service delivery, operational performance, and constituent outcomes.
Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years of software engineering, application development, or systems implementation experience
  • 4+ years of experience with at least one programming language such as Java, C#, JavaScript, Python, or SQL
  • 4+ years of experience in software development lifecycle delivery using Agile or Scrum methods
  • 2+ year of experience with application testing, debugging, and production support
  • Ability to travel 0-20%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
Preferred:
  • 1+ year of experience supporting government or public sector programs
  • 1+ year of experience with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
  • 1+ year of experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment tools
  • 1+ year of experience with application programming interfaces, system integration, or microservices architecture
