Job description

Ocean Spray is now hiring Maintenance Mechanics at the Kenosha Bottling Plant. The plant is a 400,000 square facility that mixes and batches our concentrates to make Cranberry Sauce and Cranberry Juice products. It is a high-speed manufacturing facility with recent upgrades to the bottling lines. The Maintenance Mechanics position is on a 12-hour rotating shift from 6pm-6am with every other weekend off. Mechanics earn a starting pay rate of $33.11 per hour to $40.31 per hourbased on experience and skill levels, plus a shift differential of $ .75 per hour for the night shift. All positions are year-round.

Position Overview:

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing regular electrical and mechanical maintenance on equipment to eliminate unscheduled downtime. You will also support line operations, assist with problems on the line, rework, coverage, troubleshooting, and line relief as needed.

Comply with all quality, safety, attendance, and work-rule requirements. Will perform other duties as directed.

What we are Looking for

  • Mechanical Troubleshooting skills
  • Electrical Troubleshooting
  • Machine Safety Inspections
  • Ability to use machines and technologies such as Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), (Allen Bradley), Conveyor Systems, and Servo Motors.
  • Must be able to work in a 24/7 environment, 12hr shifts, every other weekend, and possibly some holidays.
  • Ability to work overtime for vacation coverage and training purposes.
  • Must maintain excellent attendance reliability.
  • No deviation from required documentation/ensure information is timely, accurate and complete.
  • Communicate with team members on the same shift and between shifts to ensure continuous line productivity and effective operations.
  • Bottling, canning, and manufacturing experience, a plus
  • PLS (AB) and ladder logic knowledge experience a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Ability to pass initial assessment

What you will be responsible for:

  • Perform regular and preventive electrical and mechanical maintenance on equipment to eliminate unscheduled downtime.
  • Supports line operations, assisting with problems on the line, rework, coverage, troubleshooting, and line relief as needed.
  • Answers line calls and supports operators.
  • Supports changeovers to ensure that they are performed in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Train operators and other mechanics in all aspects of electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance and operation.
  • Rebuilds parts, fabricates materials, and updates prints to maintain and upgrade equipment as required.
  • Takes corrective action as required by initiated work orders through the CMMS System or as circumstances dictate and write new work orders to account for unplanned corrective maintenance time.
  • Interprets blueprints, schematics, electrical ladder diagrams, and exploded parts diagrams.
  • Initiates purchase of required tools, parts, and materials and maintains accountability for tools issued.
  • Uses proper lock-out/tag-out, confined space, and hot works permit to maintain a safe environment and comply with EHS regulatory procedures.
  • Upgrades skills and knowledge as equipment and technology development.
  • Ensures adherence to the NEC (National Electric Code) and the NFPA code in all work performed.
  • Keeps work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Requires a valid fork truck license (Ocean Spray provided training) and the completion of routine maintenance checks and enter a record of necessary equipment repairs into a maintenance log.
  • Safely and competently operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and walk-behind lifts (certification required).(Ocean Spray provided training)
  • May be required to work outside or may be assigned to work in the cooler/ freezer.
  • Completes all paperwork as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
