Job description

Senior Advisor, Global Supply Management
Global supply at one of the world's largest technology companies is no small challenge. It's complex, fast moving, ever changing and above all exciting. It keeps our people on their toes. Our Global Supply Management team within the PowerEdge Supply Chain Team (WWP) takes charge of global supply planning for specific platforms and commodity areas. Focused on business goals and objectives, we take the lead in supply assurance, demand-supply balancing, and material availability. We succeed through our ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with global internal and external supply chain partners ensuring L11 Mechanical components are available at the right time, place, and quantity to support PowerEdge production requirements.
What you'll achieve:
As a Senior Advisor, you will own global supply management for L11 Mechanical components driving demand-supply balancing, material availability, inventory optimization, and shortage resolution across global manufacturing sites. You will be the critical link between suppliers, planning, logistics, and factory operations, ensuring build plans are met and supply risks are proactively managed in a fast-paced server production environment.
Join us to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact as a Global Supply Management Senior Advisor on PowerEdge Supply Chain Team (WWP) team.
Responsibilities
You will:
  • Own demand-supply balancing for L11 Mechanical components, analyzing forecasts, purchase orders, inventory positions, lead times, and supplier capacity to ensure material availability aligns with global build plans - proactively recommending actions such as expedites, reschedules, pull-ins, and buffer strategies to prevent line-down events.
  • Drive shortage resolution and supply risk mitigation, serving as the primary point of contact for L11 Mechanical supply escalations collaborating with suppliers, logistics, manufacturing, and planning teams to resolve constraints, manage allocation scenarios, and execute contingency plans across global factory sites.
  • Manage inventory health and optimization, monitoring excess and obsolete (E&O) exposure, safety stock levels, and pipeline inventory to balance supply assurance with working capital efficiency - supporting product transitions and end-of-life (EOL) management to minimize material risk.
  • Coordinate with suppliers on operational execution, managing purchase order flow, delivery schedules, logistics coordination, and capacity commitments ensuring suppliers meet on-time delivery requirements and flagging risks early through regular supply reviews and demand signaling.
  • Prepare dashboards and executive reporting on supply health, material availability, shortage status, and inventory metrics delivering data-driven insights and recommendations to leadership that highlight risks, opportunities, and actions needed to protect production continuity.

  • Hands-on experience with demand-supply balancing, shortage management, and inventory optimization with a track record of ensuring material availability and protecting build plans in a high-volume, fast-paced production environment.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Excel/BI tools, with the analytical capability to interpret supply signals, build dashboards, and translate data into actionable supply decisions.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder coordination skills, with the ability to work across Planning, Logistics, Manufacturing, Quality, and Commodity Management teams in a global matrixed organization.
