Job Description:

This is a professional engineering and supervisory position responsible for development of the digital delivery program for the department.

Digital project delivery replaces paper plans with cloud-based, interactive data like 3D Building Information Modeling (BIM). It centralizes project files, schedules, and costs into a single source of truth so engineers and contractors can collaborate in real-time, reducing rework and speeding up construction timelines.

This position will perform oversight of internal and external resources and will serve as the primary resource for digital delivery. Work is performed in a team environment. Strong interpersonal and teaming skills are required. Work is performed under limited supervision.

Duties are to include the following:

  • Serve as primary contact for digital delivery efforts for the department

  • Establish and implement a roadmap for digital delivery through maturity

  • Develop, maintain and execute a communication plan for digital delivery

  • Coordinate and communicate with stakeholders including internal department staff, consultants, and construction industry representatives to ensure proper change management

  • Manage overall budget and schedules for digital delivery efforts in the department

  • Oversee development and deployment of standards, procedures including data standardization, and performance measures for the digital delivery program

  • Provide training and technical support as needed for digital delivery projects

  • Supervise staff as assigned

To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide evidence ofthe following experience:

Licensure as a Professional Engineer plus two (2) years of work experience beyond such licensure which demonstrates the performance of significantly complex engineering science, competency in evaluating risk, and applying sound engineering judgement as it applies to planning, project development, and/or maintenance of public works structures and facilities.

Licensing/Registration/Certification Requirements: (These must be met by all employees prior to attaining permanent status in this class).

Licensure as a Professional Engineer as issued by the Maine State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers.
