Job description

Full-Time, Remote in United States
Position Overview
We are looking for a Systems Engineer to join one of our client delivery pods. In this fully remote role, you will be the named technical resource for a portfolio of mid-market clients, handling escalated support, proactive maintenance, and project delivery execution under the guidance of a Senior Cloud Engineer.
This role is hybrid complexity by design. You will work across modern Microsoft cloud services and traditional on-premises infrastructure - the same week might include an Intune Autopilot rollout, a DC replication issue, and helping a client assess their Defender for Endpoint alerts. If that range energizes rather than overwhelms you, you are the right fit.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and has consulting, startup, and service-oriented experience; MSP experience is preferred but not required. We value someone who is hands-on, proactive, and comfortable building structure, processes, and solutions from the ground up.
Success in this role requires clear communication, strong ownership, and a collaborative mindset to deliver reliable Microsoft cloud solutions across Azure, Microsoft 365, identity, and security workloads.
Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and troubleshoot Entra ID, Active Directory, Exchange Online, Intune, and Windows Server
  • Perform proactive maintenance: patch management, backup health validation, Defender alert triage, Entra Connect/Cloud Sync monitoring
  • Execute project tasks under Sr. Cloud Engineer direction - Conditional Access rollouts, AVD session host builds, M365 migrations, Server and Workload migrations
  • Maintain accurate documentation in our knowledge base - runbooks, environment diagrams, ticket notes - for every assigned account
  • Own escalated L2-L3 tickets across identity, endpoint, and infrastructure workloads for clients
  • Participate in client check-ins and serve as secondary technical point of contact for your pod accounts
  • Collaborate with the Modern Workplace and Security shared specialists on cross-functional work
  • Proactively identify improvements for security, performance, resilience, cost efficiency, and delivery processes
  • Maintain clear, timely communication in Teams so project status, and ownership are visible to the broader team

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in an MSP or internal IT role supporting Microsoft environments
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID - user and group management, Conditional Access, MFA, SSO, hybrid identity, and Zero Trust-aligned security controls
  • Active Directory administration: GPO, DNS, DHCP, DC health, replication troubleshooting
  • Microsoft 365 administration: Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, licensing
  • Endpoint management with Intune - policy deployment, compliance, Autopilot
  • Microsoft Defender for Endpoint - onboarding, alert triage, basic KQL
  • Windows Server administration (2016/2019/2022)
  • Comfortable writing and reading PowerShell for automation and troubleshooting
  • AZ-104 (Azure Administrator) or MS-102 (M365 Administrator) held or in progress
  • Excellent communication, documentation, client engagement, problem-solving, and project delivery skills
  • Bachelors in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience working in a fully remote environment

Soft Skills and Behavioral Competencies
  • Hands-on builder, not afraid to roll up sleeves, take initiative, and drive work forward without heavy oversight
  • Transparent communicator, proactively surfaces priorities, progress, and blockers rather than waiting to be asked
  • Collaborative team player who enjoys working with the broader team and builds trust through reliability, transparency, and accountability
  • Thrives in fast-moving, startup-style environments with ambiguity and limited existing process
  • Able to translate complex technical concepts into clear, practical guidance for non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong problem solver with sound judgment, curiosity, and a commitment to continuous improvement

Why Join Our Team??
  • Opportunity to work on?cutting-edge?cloud projects and deliver meaningful digital transformation
  • Collaborative?environment that values innovation, agility, and professional growth
  • Access to training, certification programs, and industry events
  • Competitive compensation package with comprehensive benefits
