Position Overview

Youngstown Pipe and Steel in Campbell Ohio is seeking a skilled commercial driver with a Class A endorsement to deliver and pick up various metal products such as pipe, plate, tubing, channel, angle, bar etc. The ideal candidate takes pride in a job well done, has good customer service skills, follows safety and quality standards and brings hands-on expertise in commercial driving that involves direct customer contact, making deliveries and picking up orders from vendors. This driving position is a local position with a driving radius of 150 miles around Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safe operation of a semi-truck and trailer.
  • Chaining and tarping loads.
  • Daily equipment operation/inspection and reporting problems to supervision.
  • Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Maintaining an accurate list of processed products and quantities with all deliveries and pick ups.
  • Use of a forklift when needed.
  • Clear and accurate communication with co-workers, customers and vendors.
  • Load security prior to leaving any facility.
  • Keep a clean and neat truck.

Qualifications

  • 1 year or more of experience operating a semi-truck with trailer.
  • 2 year minimum since obtaining CDL license.
  • Current, clean CDL Class A driver's license.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Physical ability to tarp, chain, perform a lot of moving up and down during a workday.
  • Ability to drive in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
