Part Time and Full Time Drivers Needed

ETCH Transport Company in Central AR partners with FedEx Ground to efficiently deliver packages to business and residential customers. We have an immediate need for multiple energetic full and part time drivers.

Due to the strenuous and physically demanding nature of the position, those who thrive most as drivers are energetic and have increased stamina. Athletes thrive in this position.

Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures and transportation laws is a must. Being good-natured, flexible and adaptable to last minute changes in schedules and routes is important.

Primary duties/responsibilities:

• Loading, transporting and accurately delivering packages in a safe and timely manner

  • ETCH Transport operates 7 days per week. Schedules vary but drivers must be able to be at work by 8:00AM every day and have availability to work weekends.

• Adhering to assigned routes and following pickup and delivery deadline windows

• Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a SAFE driving record

• Operating and being aware of necessary maintenance for one or more of the following vehicles: 22-foot step van or 16-26-foot box truck (included but not limited to fueling the vehicle)

• Inspecting the vehicle before departing and reporting any potential maintenance issues

• Utilizing tools such as iPad (navigation/routing software) and scanner (package delivery/tracking software)

• Lifting and handling packages weighing up to 150 pounds

• Inspecting and organizing orders prior to leaving the terminal for daily route

• Communicating throughout the day with management and updating delivery schedule as necessary

Minimum job requirements:

• Clean driving record in Arkansas and elsewhere

• Pass state and federal background check

• Valid driver's license (CDL not required)

• 21 years of age or older

• Pass the ETCH Transport Company’s driving test

Upon hiring:

• Attain a DOT (Department of Transportation) Medical Examiner's Card

• Pass a drug test as part of hiring process and randomly during employment (random tests are conducted on ongoing basis)

Additional skills that would add to success in position:

• Prior package delivery driving experience

• Commercial vehicle driving experience

• Strong people skills for interaction with customers and co-workers

• Strong organizational skills

• Familiarity with the Little Rock, AR and surrounding metro area

Benefits:

If employee is full time and works more than 30 hours/week, ETCH Transport Company provides and shares the cost of healthcare, dental and vision plan options approximately 60 days after the start date of employment. Employees are eligible for these benefits on the first of the month following 60 days of employment. For healthcare, employees and ETCH share the cost of coverage and for dental and vision, the employee pays but it's at a discounted group rate.

ETCH Transport Company, Inc. is an independent service provider for FedEx servicing territory in Central Arkansas and operating out of the Mabelvale, AR FedEx terminal. ETCH delivers to six zip codes primarily in Maumelle and North Little Rock.
In all US markets, FedEx Ground outsources the transfer of packages up to 150 pounds from the local terminal to individual residences or businesses.
