**Delivery Associate - $22/Hour**

The Delivery Associate plays a key role in ensuring building materials are accurately prepared, safely loaded, and reliably delivered to customers within a 100-mile radius. This position combines warehouse operations, forklift operation, and customer-facing delivery work to support efficient, timely, and damage-free transport of shingles and other construction products.

Responsibilities

  • Read work orders and follow oral instructions to determine work assignments, materials, and equipment needed for each delivery.
  • Assist in delivering shingles and other building products to customer locations within approximately a 100-mile range.
  • Operate a motorized forklift and other industrial trucks to position lifting devices, move, load, and unload packages or products to designated areas.
  • Manually transport building products to ensure timely and complete delivery to customers and internal locations.
  • Count finished products to verify that product orders are accurate and complete before shipment or delivery.
  • Tie products into secure bundles for further processing or shipment, following prescribed procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Install protective devices, bracing, and strapping to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.
  • Maintain storage areas in a clean and orderly condition to support safe and efficient warehouse operations.
  • Perform routine maintenance on power industrial trucks, including cleaning, recharging batteries, and fueling as needed.
  • Provide courteous, professional customer service during deliveries and interactions at the yard.
  • Use delivery tickets and related documentation to confirm delivery details and ensure correct products reach the proper destination.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 6+ months of experience in a warehouse, production, or construction environment.
  • Minimum 6+ months of experience working in a non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Minimum 6+ months of experience in a physically demanding work environment with consistent lifting of up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to lift up to 150 lbs occasionally as part of daily duties.
  • Experience with forklift operation, loading, palletizing, and shipping/receiving activities.
  • Experience with loading and unloading trucks in a warehouse or yard setting.
  • Strong customer service skills for face-to-face interactions with customers during deliveries and at the yard.
  • Ability to follow work orders and oral instructions accurately and efficiently.
  • Preferred 6+ months of experience working with lumber or other construction materials and tools.
  • Preferred 6+ months of experience working with customers face to face in a delivery, retail, or service environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret delivery tickets and related documentation.
  • Comfort working in dusty, non-climate-controlled warehouse and yard conditions.
  • Attention to detail when counting products, bundling materials, and securing loads.
  • Reliability and strong work ethic in a physically demanding role.
  • Basic understanding of safe material handling and load securement practices.
