Job description

Description

This position is responsible for various job duties which are explained below. The position will require the employee to be responsible for the opening and loading of product, along with other general warehouse duties as assigned.


Essential Functions:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Operate and maintain various company vehicles to include but not limited to service vans, and 26' Straight trucks.
  • Run special same day deliveries and/or accompany a delivery route when necessary.
  • Responsible for opening and inspecting product for transport to our various showrooms throughout the company.
  • Ensure merchandise is accurate and free of damage, report quality variances.
  • Ability to operate the hand held scanner to process all merchandise.
  • Operate and maintain equipment in a clean manner that promotes safety. Comply with OSHA and MSDS standards.
  • Off load incoming merchandise and load outgoing merchandise.
  • Assist customers with pick-ups when necessary.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Must have a good driving record with no more than 4 points.
  • Must be able to pass a DOT physical.
  • Excellent Communication Skills and Customer Service Oriented.
  • Be able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Must be able to read and write in English.
  • Must be able to use hand tools effectively.
  • Ability to lift heavy furniture safely and with assistance while moving merchandise in various positions without causing damage to merchandise or property.
  • Also includes working indoors in a warehouse environment which is subject to temperature changes not easily controlled by heating or air conditioning.
