Position: Temporary Contracted Licensed School Nurse (LSN) / Registered Nurse (RN)

Schedule: Monday Thursday | 8:00 AM 12:00 PM

Job Summary: Pine Island Public Schools seeking a Professional Nurse (RN or LSN) to provide essential health services and clinical oversight for students with disabilities during the ESY session. The successful candidate will be responsible for the nursing process, including student assessment, the development of care plans, and the legal delegation and supervision of nursing tasks to assist personnel to ensure a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delegation: Determine and execute the transfer of authority to paraprofessionals to perform specific nursing tasks (e.g., g-tube feedings, specialized medication administration).
  • Supervision & Evaluation: Provide mandated ongoing supervision, which includes setting expectations, directing activities, and evaluating student outcomes. The nurse must remain ready and available to intervene as necessary in person during all ESY hours.
  • Accountability: Maintain overall accountability for the quality of care delivered and the outcomes of delegated tasks.
  • Consultation: Provide population-based health consultation to staff regarding student health conditions and safe medication administration.

Qualifications:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Minnesota.
  • Licensure as a Licensed School Nurse (LSN) preferred.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Compensation: This is a temporary position offering a competitive hourly rate of $35.00$45.00, commensurate with experience and education. Please note that as a temporary role, it is not eligible for district-sponsored health insurance or additional benefits.
