RN Dialysis

Position Summary: Evaluates patient conditions and collaborates with health care team members and patient family members to deliver care safely and effectively. Maintains and updates patient's medical records with accurate and timely entries to ensure health care team members have access to relevant information. Supervises assigned team members and delegates work as appropriate to optimize care delivery.

Critical Tasks:

  • Evaluates patient conditions to determine their health care needs.
  • Maintains and updates patients' medical records with accurate and timely entries to ensure appropriate documentation.
  • Collaborates with health care team and patients' families in order to establish and implement plans of care appropriate for each patient.
  • Regularly evaluates patient health status and response to care and participates in patient care rounds to guarantee effective delivery of care.
  • Communicates observations and evaluation results with health care team and patient family members to inform and ensure understanding of patient health status, progress, and ongoing needs.
  • Supervises patient care activities of assigned team members and delegates tasks as appropriate.
  • Provides orientation services to patients and their families to ensure familiarity with unit and hospital systems and processes.
  • Completes tasks while complying with all applicable medication, storage, and documentation standards, regulations, and requirements.
  • Provides ongoing education to patients and their families regarding technical procedures, clinic activities, and safety procedures.
  • Performs other job-related activities as requested.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse program from an accredited university or college; Bachelors' Degree in nursing or a closely related field of study preferred.
  • Registered Nurse Licensure in AZ or qualified Compact Licensure.
  • Hemodialysis certification preferred.
  • 1 year nursing experience required; Medical/Surgical floor experience preferred.
  • Current and continuing BLS training and certification.
  • Employment at The Caring House (TCH) requires: AZ Department of Public Safety fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Demonstrates ability to relate to diverse cultures and specifically the Gila River Community and/or other Native American cultures and community health services.
