Job description

Overview
National Award-Winning Studio & Winner of Design Firm of the Year is actively seeking a Project Architect for their Berkeley or Folsom office. With over 19 offices across the U.S., the award-winning architecture + design firm specializes in K-12 through college/university, healthcare, sports, and corporate business sectors across the U.S. The company has won over 500 design awards and is recognized for shaping learning environments for students and the community. Its well-established culture has also led the firm to be named to the list of "Best Places to Work." For over forty years, the multidisciplinary studio has created a client base of more than two hundred clients, a list that includes university systems, hospital systems, school districts, and Fortune 500 companies.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Join a dynamic team as a Project Architect, where you'll play a pivotal role in producing top-tier construction documents that adhere to the company's standards. From Schematic Design to Construction Administration, you'll be involved in every phase of their projects, ensuring seamless execution and timely completion within budgetary constraints. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you'll oversee and mentor a dedicated production team, ensuring their performance aligns with their quality and client service benchmarks.
Your Impact:
  • Lead the production of construction documents and specifications, maintaining compliance with the company's rigorous standards.
  • Coordinate and guide architectural and/or engineering teams to execute work in an efficient, orderly, and coordinated manner.
  • Ensure projects meet client-set budget goals and schedules, while also coordinating with government agencies and utility companies to resolve any plan check and approval issues.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of building codes and ensure strict compliance across all projects.
  • Mentor and supervise junior staff, overseeing their assignments and fostering their professional growth.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Production Directors, and Client Executives to supervise project staff and establish work plans, budgets, and task schedules.

Here's What You'll Need:
  • Architecture License Required or starting the testing process.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Architecture.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience, with proficiency in Revit.
  • California K-12 or higher education project experience required.
  • Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
