Job Description Responsibilities:

  • Maintain schedule availability to accept opportunities that arise taking at least two assignments per week.
  • Follow all Parallel Work Rules, Policies and Procedures.ย 
  • Create andย maintainย a classroom environment conducive to learning that is orderly, positive, and age-appropriate; keep the physical space neat and organized.ย 
  • Carry out prescribed lesson plans and guide learning toward curriculum goals. When plans are unavailable, engage students withย appropriate materialย and supplement with suitable activities if needed.ย 
  • Take attendance per schoolย procedures. Set clear behavior expectations at the start of class andย maintainย discipline and classroom control that supports a safe, productive learning environment.ย 
  • Never leave students unattended. Perform tasks as directed by administration, includingย appropriate dutyย of care and support for all students. This may include specializedย assistanceย for pre-K students and students with disabilities or receiving special education services, following school protocols, IEPs, or 504 plans.ย 
  • Perform assigned duties such as lunchroom, hall, or playground supervision. Familiarize yourself with emergency protocols, evacuation routes, and procedures forย referringย disciplinary concerns.ย 
  • Proctor classroom, study, and testing activities as directed. Mentor and engage students whileย maintainingย a positive, respectful demeanor.ย 
  • Build positive professional relationships with Parallel staff, administrators, teachers, students, and families. Adhere to all policies andย demonstrateย flexibility to meet school needs.ย 
  • Assistย administration inย maintainingย order when needed and perform other duties as directed.ย 

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree or higher required.
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Maintain compliance requirements with WI DPI, including annual re-certification on free training, as determined by the State of Wisconsin.
  • Classroom experience preferred but not required
  • Criminal History Background Check - both State and Federal
  • Drug screening with negative results
  • Substitute or Teaching License issued by the State of Wisconsin and compliance with DPI requirements - we can help guide you in the process!
