Qualifications

- Demonstrates leadership, integrity, professionalism, and serves as a positive Christian role model for student-athletes.
Reports To: Athletic Director
Supervises: Assistant coaches, volunteer coaches, team managers, and student assistants assigned to the girls flag football program.
Job Goal: To develop a competitive girls flag football program that emphasizes skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership, and character while supporting the mission and values of Kapaun Mt. Carmel Catholic High School. The Head Coach is responsible for fostering an environment that promotes discipline, confidence, accountability, and respect, while helping student-athletes grow both on and off the field.
General Responsibilities
- Represent Kapaun Mt. Carmel Catholic High School in a professional and positive manner at all times.
- Model good sportsmanship, integrity, and Christian values.
- Maintain a safe, positive, and encouraging environment for all student-athletes.
- Exercise sound judgment in situations not specifically addressed by school policy.

Coaching Responsibilities
- Implement and uphold all athletic department, school, league, and Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA) policies and regulations.
- Plan and conduct organized, effective practices focused on individual and team development.
- Develop offensive, defensive, and special situations appropriate for the team's level of competition.
- Teach proper techniques, fundamentals, sportsmanship, and game strategy.
- Establish expectations for player conduct, attendance, academics, and citizenship.
- Supervise student-athletes during practices, competitions, team travel, and other team activities.
- Communicate effectively with assistant coaches to ensure consistency throughout the program.
- Evaluate assistant coaches and provide guidance for professional growth.
- Attend required coaches' meetings, clinics, and professional development opportunities.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Work with the Athletic Director to schedule contests, practices, and special events.
- Coordinate facility usage and communicate equipment and field needs.
- Ensure all athletes meet eligibility requirements, including physicals, required forms, and academic standards.
- Maintain accurate team rosters and complete all required athletic department paperwork in a timely manner.
- Report injuries and other required incidents according to school procedures.
- Recommend improvements to program policies and procedures when appropriate.
Student-Athlete Development
- Promote academic achievement and monitor student eligibility.
- Encourage leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and respect.
- Foster the development of character consistent with the mission of Catholic education.
- Communicate expectations clearly with athletes and parents.
- Address discipline concerns fairly and consistently while following school policies.
- Assist student-athletes interested in pursuing athletics beyond high school when appropriate.
Equipment and Budget
- Assist with annual budget planning and equipment requests.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of uniforms and equipment.
- Ensure equipment is properly issued, maintained, collected, and stored.
- Promote respect for school property and responsible use of equipment.
- Secure facilities following practices and games when appropriate.
Community Relations
- Build positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, faculty, officials, and community members.
- Promote the girls flag football program within the school and community.
- Support athletic department events and encourage multi-sport participation when appropriate.
- Provide accurate information regarding schedules, results, and team accomplishments through appropriate school communication channels.
