About The Role:

Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT), a leading defense technology company, is seeking a Software Engineer to be part of our Integrated Mission Systems (IMS) team and based out of our Arlington, VA location.

This Software Engineer will work with a fast-paced team of mission-focused engineers to solve some of the Navy's toughest challenges. Initiative, creativity, reliability, efficiency, and teamwork will be required to successfully deliver innovative solutions in this dynamic customer space. The Software Engineer will design, build, test, and deliver innovative, secure, and fully integrated software solutions for complex, mission-critical systems in the US Department of Defense (DOD).

  • All applicants must be able to obtain/maintain an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
  • This is an on-site position. Requiring at least 4 days in office, based out of our Arlington, VA location.

What You Will Do:
  • Design, integrate, troubleshoot, test, deliver and update software code in various languages, documenting associated architectures, processes, procedures and techniques to operate and sustain end items.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams of software, systems, integration, information, production and test engineers and subject matter experts to understand requirements, workflows, and develop back-end features and architecture.
  • Adhere to government and industry security, reliability, and performance standards; apply orthodox programming paradigms; interpret and apply DoD and industry standards; and participate in peer reviews, configuration, design, and performance reviews.
  • Apply common tools, approaches and best engineering practices including; integrating third-party and externally developed software into a container runtime environment; integrating with internal systems and third-party applications; and assisting with containerization, configuration management, and customization of vendor or open-source software.
