Job description

Job Title - Assistant Procurement Manager - International

Location - Montgomery, AL, on-site

What You Will Do

        Plans, develops, coordinates, and manages designated procurement activities for construction materials and equipment on large, international projects.

         Provides day-to-day guidance, coordination, and operational support to procurement staff as delegated by the Procurement Manager.

        Maintains full knowledge and demonstrated capability of performing all duties outlined within the Procurement Manager's scope of work & serves as an operational extension of that role as needed.

        Write and issue contract documents for purchase of material needed for projects.

        Tracks projects through completion to include all changes in design. Issues change orders as needed by prospective vendors.

        Verifies adherence to project budget by maintaining cost control of all materials and equipment.

        Supports adherence to project delivery schedules in accordance with standard advance work packaging methodologies and assists in monitoring procurement milestones to maintain project schedule alignments.

        Obtains and reviews submittals for adherence to contract documents.

        Oversee the submittal approval and material release process in coordination with Procurement leadership, ensuring equipment is authorized for manufacturer release and delivered in accordance with project specifications and schedule.

        Provides oversight of quantity surveys and estimating activities, ensuring material takeoffs and estimates are completed accurately and in accordance with project plans and specifications.

        Acts on behalf of the Procurement Manager for assigned procurement functions, vendor coordination, internal follow-up, and issue resolution, while final departmental accountability remains with the Procurement Manager.

        Supports development, standardization, and continuous improvement of procurement processes, reporting tools, and workflow execution across assigned projects.

        Working Conditions - Some travel required. Some light lifting may be required (50 lbs), walking, standing, sitting, keyboarding, writing and reading. Work is performed in a controlled indoor environment. Work while traveling in noncontrolled environments may be required. Full time.

        Reporting Structure - Procurement Manager- International

        Accountable to Project site(s) and overall program schedule & budget.

Education / Experience - Minimum high school diploma/GED and some construction experience required. Basic knowledge of construction materials and methods.

Certifications, Licenses, etc. - Current clearance, or the ability to obtain, a Department of Defense minimum secret security clearance required.

While the salary range is typically between $ 55,200 - $89,900 annually, applicants are encouraged to share compensation expectations as part of the application process.
