JOB SUMMARY

The FLEX Senior Manager, Test Lead - Business Process Validation will lead Business Process Validation testing for enterprise technology initiatives at Marriott International. This role helps ensure solutions are ready to support business processes, operational workflows, system integrations, and the guest, customer, and associate experience.

The FLEX Senior Manager, Test Lead - Business Process Validation will partner with product, technology, business operations, design, engineering, quality assurance, and release teams to support consistent testing practices, effective governance, and clear readiness decisions across complex initiatives.

This position plays a key role in strengthening BPV planning, execution, governance, and reporting so enterprise initiatives can move forward with confidence, transparency, and measurable quality outcomes.

CANDIDATE PROFILE Education and Experience

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Hospitality Technology, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience including 10+ years of relevant work experience in QA, BPV, software testing, or enterprise technology management .
  • 6+ years of experience in QA, BPV, software testing, test management, or enterprise technology delivery.
  • 1+ year of experience leading QA teams, BPV teams, testing workstreams, or cross-functional validation efforts.
  • Experience managing complex end-to-end testing across integrated systems, business processes, and release cycles.
  • Experience developing test strategies, governance routines, quality metrics, and defect management processes.
  • Experience working with product, engineering, business operations, release management, and executive stakeholders.
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, SAFe, or similar delivery frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of QA engineering, test strategy, traceability, defect lifecycle management, and release readiness.
  • Ability to support large-scale test governance with clear ownership, metrics, reporting, escalation paths, and dependency management.
  • Experience identifying, documenting, prioritizing, and resolving defects using tools such as Jira.
  • Ability to analyze test coverage, defect trends, blocker impact, and delivery risk.
  • Ability to communicate technical and operational issues clearly for leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership, stakeholder influence, accountability, and delivery focus.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD quality practices, test automation frameworks, regression testing, and scalable validation approaches.
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC, Agile, Scrum, SAFe, and DevOps methodologies.
  • Advanced experience with Power BI, Tableau, Excel, Jira dashboards, or similar reporting tools.
  • Experience collaborating with distributed onshore and offshore testing teams across business, technology, QA, and operations.

Preferred

  • Hospitality industry or hotel operations experience.
  • Understanding of Business Process Validation methods, including process decomposition, L4 process mapping, scenario design, variation banks, and persona-based testing.
  • Familiarity with enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, ServiceNow, Workday, Oracle, SAP, PMS, POS, CRM, Loyalty, finance, procurement, and hospitality operations systems.
  • Certified Scrum Master, SAFe Agilist, or SAFe Practitioner certification.
  • Experience with AI-assisted test automation or QE transformation initiatives.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

BPV Test Strategy & Execution Leadership:

  • Lead BPV test strategy and execution for complex enterprise initiatives, validating end-to-end business processes across systems, teams, and workflows.
  • Define testing scope, objectives, entry and exit criteria, coverage expectations, and execution plans in partnership with business, product, technology, QA, and deployment teams.
  • Oversee readiness activities, including scenario design, script validation, data readiness, environment access, persona-based provisioning, dependency tracking, and execution planning.
  • Align testing activities to release milestones, PI Planning commitments, project timelines, and enterprise delivery priorities.

Quality, Governance & Risk Management:

  • Apply quality assurance best practices to strengthen test design, coverage, traceability, defect prevention, and product quality.
  • Maintain quality metrics that provide visibility into execution health, defect trends, blocker resolution, risk exposure, and release readiness.
  • Support governance routines that make testing status, risks, blockers, decisions, dependencies, and escalations clear and actionable.

Defect Management & Resolution:

  • Lead defect management across BPV scope to ensure defects are documented, prioritized, triaged, assigned, retested, and closed.
  • Partner with product, engineering, QA, and business teams to assess severity, business impact, root cause, and release implications.
  • Maintain accurate defect data in tools such as Jira to support transparency, trend analysis, and leadership reporting.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with business operations, product owners, engineering, QA, release management, and technology leadership to align priorities and resolve blockers.
  • Translate process validation needs into clear testing expectations, quality requirements, and operational impacts.
  • Build alignment across teams to improve testing efficiency, quality outcomes, and shared accountability.

Process Improvement & Operating Model Maturity:

  • Promote modern Agile and product development practices to continuously improve BPV activities and deliverables.
  • Strengthen stakeholder confidence through streamlined, predictable engagement models.
  • Track success metrics and increase release confidence through comprehensive end-to-end testing that supports high-quality releases and user experiences.
