Job Description
Purpose:
Sells new and used agricultural equipment while providing product expertise and support to existing and new customers
in addition to dealership personnel. Proactively engages customers to invest in the products and services of Deer Country
Farm & Lawn, Inc.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Represents the Company for the sale of machinery to customers in a defined sales area or product group
โ€ข Maintains current product knowledge on features and benefits of all equipment potentially saleable by the Dealership
โ€ข Monitors competitive activity/products and timely communicates to leadership
โ€ข Actively seeks competitive customers, attempting to maximize conversion
โ€ข Maintains all customer information in assigned territory for sales management
โ€ข Adheres to the defined sales process including call reports & follow up after the sale in a timely manner
โ€ข Responsibly maintains and operates assigned company vehicles and equipment if applicable
โ€ข Assists with the preparation and execution of customer events and conducts equipment field demonstrations Monitors trends in customer's business activities and timely communicates to leadership
โ€ข Maintains current knowledge of financing options to assist customers with securing the purchase of new and used goods
โ€ข Attends applicable sales meetings, training events and seminars
โ€ข Will maintain current knowledge of used equipment values and ability to evaluate properly for trading purposes
โ€ข Consults customer base on general farming practices and the correct equipment to perform them
โ€ข Answers telephone inquiries and completes all sales orders and documentation promptly, thoroughly, courteously, and accurately
โ€ข Demonstrates a genuine concern for company as a whole by promoting teamwork and maintain positive attitude. Exhibits outstanding communication skills and cooperates with other departments and locations within company

Qualifications & Skills
โ€ข Education: High School Diploma or equivalent work experience
โ€ข Experience: 1+ years equipment sales experience. Knowledge of agricultural equipment and farming or operational practices preferred
โ€ข Skills: Excellent customer relationship skills and ability to speak and write effectively one-on-one and within a group, Ability to use standard computer applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions, Capable of analyzing and interpreting basic sales reports, Valid insurable driver's license
โ€ข Travel: Frequent customer visits
โ€ข Working Conditions: Ability to work extended/flexible hours that may include some scheduled Saturdays
