As a Deep Learning Intern, you can expect to work on projects such as developing and training neural network models, data preprocessing, and conducting experiments to improve model accuracy. Interns are often integrated into small teams where they collaborate closely with experienced machine learning engineers and researchers. Mentorship is usually structured through regular check-ins, code reviews, and collaborative problem-solving sessions, giving interns the opportunity to learn industry best practices and receive feedback on their work. This setup provides a supportive environment for skill development and hands-on experience with real-world deep learning challenges.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a deep learning intern?

To thrive as a Deep Learning Intern, you need a solid background in mathematics, programming (especially Python), and foundational knowledge of machine learning concepts, often backed by coursework or relevant projects. Job description

ventureLAB is a leading global founder community for hardware technology and deep tech companies in Canada. Located at the heart of Ontario’s innovation corridor in York Region, we sit within one of the largest and most diverse tech ecosystems in the country. Through our targeted initiatives focused on enabling IP-rich Canadian startups to commercialize transformative innovations, we have enabled thousands of founders to create over 7,800 jobs and raise more than $530 million in investment capital. At ventureLAB, we are proud to power hardtech founders building globally competitive ventures that advance Canada’s knowledge-based economy. As an intern, you will be right at the center of this innovation, helping us share these incredible stories of growth and scale with the world.

Duration: 4-Month or 8-Month

Target Start Date:  June 2026

Location: Markham, Ontario

Project Summary:

This initiative is structurally designed as an introductory, early-career learning pathway. The scope of work is tailored specifically for current students completing college field placements, community volunteers tracking hours for their Co-Curricular Record (CCR), and recent graduates (within 12 months) establishing a baseline professional portfolio. It is not scaled or compensated for established marketing professionals or independent corporate consultants.

Project Charter:

  • Research, plan, and produce a distinct multimedia campaign package consisting of a set number of vertical and horizontal video assets (such as an isolated series for Reels, TikTok, YouTube, or LinkedIn) alongside a corresponding set of high-impact, brand-aligned graphic assets (carousels, thumbnails) using Canva, CapCut, Premiere, or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Conduct a structural audit and execute a comprehensive reorganization of ventureLAB's shared media cloud drives—building an optimized, categorized archive framework for raw footage, audio files, and design templates to streamline collaborative production workflows.

  • Researching and building a 30-day standalone 'Ecosystem Campaign Playbook', including high-conversion copy templates and structural LinkedIn layouts that ventureLAB can utilize for future startup cohorts.

  • Developing a reusable template library and drafting three (3) specific founder success case studies to be added to ventureLAB’s permanent digital portfolio archive.

  • Designing and executing an Audience Engagement Case Analysis spreadsheet tool, mapping historical channel growth metrics to help optimize ventureLAB's future campaign structures.

What We Offer:

  • Direct mentorship from seasoned marketing, PR, and tech ecosystem professionals.
  • An inclusive, agile, and innovative hybrid corporate culture.
