Apple's Audio & Media Technologies group provides the media, graphics, and audio software foundation across all of Apple's innovative products - from iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch to Apple TV+, Apple Music, HomePod, and Mac. The Streaming Media team is looking for an experienced Engineering Program Manager to lead software projects across first- and third-party initiatives that reach hundreds of millions of people every day.
You will bring strong program management fundamentals, excellent communication skills, and a passion for building exceptional technology with a talented, collaborative team. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, product, and partnerships - shaping how media is delivered and experienced across Apple's entire ecosystem.

Description
We build the technology that enables the modern streaming landscape - the protocols, frameworks, and platform capabilities that power billions of media experiences each day. Along the way, we partner with industry leading third parties to create a powerful, open ecosystem for our users.
As an EPM on this team, you will own and drive:
• Project leadership: Define, own, and maintain project plans for the Streaming Media team using the methodology best suited to each initiative (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches).
• Roadmap development: Build and steward a multi-year roadmap of feature commitments that balances engineering capacity, partner priorities, and product strategy.
• Cross-functional alignment: Drive clear, consistent communication between media engineering teams and their partners across Apple, including platform, product, design, and operations.
• Execution: Lead cross-functional software implementation for supported teams and features, from kickoff through delivery.
• Visibility & reporting: Track and communicate progress, risks, and opportunities to a range of audiences, from engineering leads to senior executives.
Minimum Qualifications
8+ years of Project / Program Management experience in a high-tech environment
Experience delivering software features or products to external customers from concept through launch
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level reporting
Has demonstrated success in leading major, cross-functional software projects
Ability to quickly develop working knowledge of technical concepts across a wide range of domains
Experience distilling complex engineering situations into clear, accurate, and actionable summaries
Technical proficiency in one or more of: audio, video, graphics, or AI/ML
Demonstrated success in driving software projects through all phases of the SDLC - requirements, design, implementation, testing, and release with multiple shipped products or features as evidence
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with software development for consumer media platforms - mobile, media players, or IPTV
Familiarity with audio/video streaming technologies including content playback, codec (encoder/decoder) compression, content protection (DRM), and CDN-based video distribution
