About Seastreak:
Seastreak provides fast passenger ferry services in the New York metropolitan area. We proudly offer high-speed catamaran services to points in Manhattan, central New Jersey, Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, and more with a fleet of robust vessels.
In addition to commuter services to and from Manhattan and New Jersey, we offer an array of special events, sightseeing cruises and tours, daytrips, and getaways year round.

Job Summary:

Deckhands / Crew members operate and maintain equipment on the deck of a vessel to assist with docking and other operations. Responsibilities include greeting passengers, collecting tickets, throwing lines, participating in safety training, and ensuring the safety of our passengers. You job as deckhand will also include working within Seastreak’s Ferry Safety Management System. Deckhands are expected to provide exemplary customer service and follow the directions of the Captain and Mate.

  • Compensation: Hourly wage plus tips ranges between $16-$20 an hour

Requirements:

  • High School diploma required
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
  • Must pass a pre-employment DOT drug test and enroll in Seastreak's random drug testing program required by the United States Coast Guard
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) or already possess one. Certain criminal records may exclude you from this.

Routes may include: Highlands, NJ to NYC; Atlantic Highlands to NYC, Belford to NYC, Highlands, NJ to Martha's Vineyard; Highlands, NJ to Nantucket; Whale Watching Cruises; Fall Foliage Cruises; Other Special Event Cruises

Career Advancement: Multiple paths to advance within seastreak to positons with more responsibility and higher compensation. Training for these positions can be completed while working as a deckhand by completing the necessary sign-off packet. These jobs include:
