Assist the Sustainability Management/Leadership Team in driving and reporting on sustainability initiatives across the organization. Collaborate with various departments to ensure alignment with sustainability goals and continuously improve reporting processes. Support assurance activities, including preparation for internal/external assurance and the development of Internal Control over Sustainability Reporting (ICSR).
Essential Job Duties
  • Support the global sustainability reporting process at all stages, from initial planning and data collection to the final publication of the report and the internal/external communication process.
  • Support the global sustainability data collection (spanning people and communities, environment and decarbonization, and governance and compliance matters) for internal and external reporting across LKQ Regions/Segments/Business Units, ensuring that data is timely, complete and accurate.
  • Support the development of the Internal Control over Sustainability Reporting, liaising with the Stakeholders involved (Business, Internal Control Team, Corporate Audit Team).
  • Work closely with identified functions and business units to design, implement and maintain standardized internal reporting processes on sustainability initiatives and related data.
  • Assist in coordinating and facilitating external and internal assurance processes at all stages, including preparation of planning, fieldwork and reporting.
  • Facilitate the interaction between external service providers and internal stakeholders.
  • Support Sustainability-related business initiatives at a global and market level as appropriate through providing financial and business acumen as well as sustainability-related expertise.
  • Keep up to date on external best practices and monitor emerging trends and relevant changes related to sustainability.
  • Support the continuous improvement of internal processes and methodologies, developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to streamline the sustainability reporting process, ensuring consistency and efficiency.
  • Support strong corporate governance and ethical practices, ensuring transparency and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Assumes other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Not responsible for supervising employees.

Minimum Requirements
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of experience in Sustainability or assurance (i.e., sustainability consulting and/or reporting, financial reporting, internal or external audit, risk management, internal control).
  • Basic to intermediate understanding of the global Sustainability landscape.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Management, Sustainability, or other technical / science-based education.
  • Familiarity with Sustainability reporting frameworks and standards, including ESRS, ISSB, SASB, GRI, TCFD, etc.
  • Familiarity with Sustainability raters and rankers such as MSCI, ISS, Sustainalytics, CDP and/or others.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs.
  • Frequent use of Outlook, Word, Excel, graphics, etc. Ability to create, maintain and incorporate functions into Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, databases, and PowerPoint presentations to support business objectives.
  • Regularly uses moderately complex oral and written skills. May train others in functional areas, interact with others and make presentations to the department or middle management.
  • Problems encountered are routine, somewhat repetitive and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures.
  • Decisions generally affect one's job or assigned functional area.
  • Results are defined; sets personal goals and determines how to achieve results with few or no guidelines to follow; supervisor/manager provides broad guidance and overall direction.
  • Handle multiple tasks or projects simultaneously with moderate complexity.

  • Work is primarily sedentary: must be able to sit for extended periods and use a computer, keyboard, and mouse frequently.
  • Travel may be required periodically, including overnight stays (contingent on position requirements).
