Job Description

The position can be remote. This individual can work anywhere in North America.

We're seeking a Senior Application Engineer to join our MicroElectronics Applications Engineering Team in North America. This is a pivotal role where you'll be the primary technical point of contact for our clients, leading the design of cutting-edge Ultra Pure Water (UPW) treatment solutions.

You'll combine advanced technical expertise with strong customer relationship management and proven project leadership to deliver competitive, executable solutions. Working across a global, cross-functional team, you'll manage the complete bid lifecycle-from lead qualification and system design through cost estimation, internal approvals, contract execution, and project handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead bid strategy development in partnership with Sales, qualifying opportunities and organizing resources to meet submission deadlines
  • Translate customer requirements into tailored Veolia solutions, optimizing competitive positioning and value delivery
  • Collaborate with Process Engineering to design flowsheet processes that solve complex water treatment challenges
  • Develop technical documentation, including P&IDs and proposal materials that clearly communicate solution advantages
  • Manage cost estimation by partnering with Sourcing teams to obtain quotes and finalize competitive pricing
  • Drive proposal development by leading meetings, reviews, and cross-functional coordination
  • Establish project timelines and prioritize deliverables while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines
  • Ensure compliance with internal bid development procedures, tracking, and forecasting protocols.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related accredited field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in chemical/mechanical engineering or related discipline
  • Proven expertise in ultra pure water treatment technologies
  • Demonstrated success in bid/proposal development with strong technical and commercial analysis skills
  • Track record in customer-facing technical sales or engineering roles
  • Fluency in English (written and verbal)
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • French language skills may be useful
  • Experience with contractual terms and conditions analysis.
