What is a debt syndicate?

A debt syndicate is a group of investment banks or financial institutions that work together to underwrite and distribute new debt securities, such as bonds or loans, to investors. The syndicate structure allows the risk and responsibility of issuing large amounts of debt to be shared among multiple institutions. This process ensures efficient placement of the securities in the market and helps issuers access larger pools of capital.
