Associate Attorney – Consumer Debt Defense & Debt Resolution

Also accepting applicants from the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Remote work is also optional, but dependent on experience.

Compensation:

$70,000 - $80,000 yearly


Responsibilities:
  • Negotiate favorable settlements with creditors and opposing counsel.
  • Analyze plaintiff pleadings, evidence, and litigation strategy to identify weaknesses, affirmative defenses, potential counterclaims (including FDCPA and related consumer protection claims), dispositive motion opportunities, and other offensive litigation strategies that maximize client outcomes.
  • Analyze the client's facts and background and determine case strategies with options for resolution.
  • Counsel clients by assessing options and determining the best course of action for a successful outcome.
  • Supervise administrative support staff and paralegals.
  • Represent clients in court to argue motions during legal proceedings.
  • Prepare various legal documents, such as motions, pleadings, and correspondence.
  • Stay current on state and federal consumer laws, TRCP, and applicable local rules.

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Texas, eligible for licensure, or awaiting Texas Bar examination results. Recent graduates who are eligible to practice under the supervision of a licensed attorney are also encouraged to apply.
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Interest in civil litigation, consumer law, debt defense, bankruptcy, or related practice areas.
  • Excellent communication and client counseling skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A growth mindset with a willingness to learn and receive coaching.
