Marine Service & Parts Advisor

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated, customer-focused Marine Service & Parts Advisor to join our team. This position serves as the primary connection between our customers, service technicians, and parts department. The ideal candidate has a strong interest in the marine industry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple service and parts needs while providing an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and determine their service, repair, maintenance, and parts needs.
  • Write accurate and detailed repair orders and work orders.
  • Coordinate service appointments, inspections, repairs, and customer follow-ups.
  • Communicate clearly with customers regarding repair recommendations, estimates, timelines, and completion status.
  • Work closely with marine technicians to diagnose service needs and develop repair recommendations.
  • Prepare and explain parts and service estimates to customers.
  • Identify, source, and order marine parts, accessories, and supplies.
  • Maintain accurate parts and service records.
  • Monitor repair progress and communicate delays or changes to customers.
  • Review completed work orders for accuracy before customer delivery.
  • Assist with warranty claims and manufacturer requirements when applicable.
  • Recommend preventative maintenance, accessories, and additional services based on customer needs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional service and parts environment.
  • Follow company safety procedures and marine industry standards.
  • Provide professional customer service throughout the entire service experience.
  • Report to Service Manager with thorough and direct communication

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in marine service, powersports, automotive, RV, or a related industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of boats, marine engines, systems, accessories, and parts is highly desirable.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to understand technical information and explain it clearly to customers.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced service environment.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn dealership/service management software.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, move, or handle marine parts and equipment.
