Job description

TITLE: Director of Sales, Dealership

LOCATION: Great Lakes Region (must live in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana & Kentucky)

REPORTS TO: VP, Sales

The Company:

Sunbit builds financial technology for real life. Our AI-native platform helps more people get to “yes” at the moments that matter with personalized offers, transparent terms, and no added consumer fees. In stores, practices and service centers across the country, Sunbit provides a fast, fair pay-over-time option. For everything else, the Sunbit Credit Card delivers a modern, no-fee credit experience managed in a powerful mobile app.

We are guided by people-centered values: Serve Others Before Self, Include Always, Connect Genuinely, Innovate for Good. These values shape how we build, how we support customers and merchants, and how we work with each other.

What makes Sunbit different is an AI-native infrastructure that runs through the full customer and merchant journey. Our interconnected AI systems power instant decisioning, streamline fraud checks with human-in-the-loop safeguards, and enable highly personalized offers at scale. The result is a quick, fair, and simple experience for consumers and merchants.

We pair this technology with inclusion and transparency. Sunbit delivers industry-leading approval rates — 90%+ in auto service and 85%+ in dental — while maintaining zero consumer fee-based revenue. It is a better way to serve people and merchants, proven at scale.

Today, Sunbit is available across a nationwide, in-person merchant network of 30,000+ locations spanning auto service centers, dental and optical practices, veterinary clinics, and other specialty services. We help teams say “yes” more often and help customers move forward with confidence.

The Role:

We are looking for an ambitious and driven Director of Sales, Dealership located in the Central U.S. (between the Rocky Mountains and the Mississippi River) that will sign up auto dealership service centers. This is a great opportunity for a charismatic seller who enjoys being on the road meeting prospects face to face to expand Sunbit’s success and build Sunbit into the #1 customer financing solution for auto dealerships across the US.

Requirements:

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Travel extensively within your territory—expect to be on the road 4–5 days per week meeting prospects in person.
  • Drive go-to-market strategy for launching and expanding product adoption across the regional auto dealership service center market, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives.
  • Own the full-cycle sales process from prospecting to closing—this is a new business acquisition role with limited account management responsibilities.
  • Lead regional sales execution in partnership with the VP of Sales, including territory planning, pipeline development, and performance forecasting.
  • Collaborate with Account Management, Onboarding, and Partner Success teams to transition new customers after initial sale and ensure long-term success.
  • Establish and nurture executive-level relationships with senior decision makers across major auto dealership groups, positioning the company as a long-term strategic partner.
  • Act as the voice of the customer to internal teams, delivering structured feedback and insights to influence product roadmap and operational improvements.
  • Mentor and guide sales team members, contributing to talent development and fostering a high-performance sales culture in the region.

What You'll Bring:

  • 7+ years of territory sales experience
  • Used to closing deals in person – this is not a phone sales position
  • Excellent communication skills, both on the phone and in face-to-face meetings
  • Intelligent, go-getter, ambitious, self-motivated, and determined to succeed
  • Great time management skills and ability to self-manage

Bonus points if you have the following:

  • Experience in the automotive industry, particularly in dealership operations, service center solutions, financing, or automotive technology platforms
  • Passion for technology and data

The Perks:

  • Mission driven, empowered, and collaborative culture
  • Competitive pay and stock options
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Comprehensive health benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, EAP, Parental Leave, HSA, & more)
  • Newly added HSA and Pet Insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Cell Phone Stipend
  • Team-based strategic planning and ownership of deliverables

Cultural Competencies for Success at Sunbit:

  • Serve Others Before Self: Support teams and stakeholders by providing financial guidance that empowers informed decision-making and collaboration.
  • Own the Impact: Take responsibility for financial outcomes and relationships, driving results that positively impact the business.
  • Connect Genuinely: Build trust across departments and external partners, communicating financial insights transparently.
  • Act Fast: Be agile and responsive, ensuring timely solutions to financial challenges and smooth operations.
  • Include Always: Foster collaboration across teams, valuing diverse perspectives to shape effective financial strategies.
  • Innovate for Good: Drive financial innovation using Sunbit's technology to improve processes and deliver value to customers and merchants.
