Job Summary

The Data Analyst promotes the integrity of Patterson’s data across the enterprise, ensuring the data can support transactional processes and analytical reporting. The Data Analyst is the business liaison in understanding the data requirements, definition, and downstream use and business impacts. In addition, he or she will work closely with technical partners, business stakeholders and data stewards/ maintainers to ensure needs are clearly defined and met by data.

Essential Functions

To perform this job successfully, an employee must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation. To request a reasonable accommodation, notify Human Resources or the manager who oversees the position.

  • Understand, maintain and enforce enterprise data definition and uses (metadata), for example:
  • Build a data definition and align the definition across business units
  • Create data requirements and data mapping documents for business processes or technology projects
  • Assist in designing master data entry business processes with data stewards to improve operational efficiencies
  • Analyze data and recommend improvements for efficiency / quality
  • Research and recommend process or technology improvements for the quality of data being created or used (ex: Automated workflow process)
  • Define data quality evaluation tools to enable end users to assess data quality and improve data quality (ex: Info Steward reports / dashboard)
  • Document data definition or data entry processes to assist with training activities and support data entry teams
  • Additional functions
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Job QualificationsRequired Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, IT, Computer Science or related field of study, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in data analysis
  • Experience with Master Data Management solutions; preferred Informatica P360/C360
  • Attention to detail and accuracy when dealing with large amounts of data
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Customer-focused and collaborative attitude
Preferred Qualifications
  • Data Management tool experience specific to Information Steward and Govern 360
  • Automation experience specific to Automate Evolve SQL or other comparable language aptitude
  • SAP experience, especially ECC or S/4
Working Conditions

Physical Demands Operating a computer or other office devices for the majority of the workday May occasionally need to move packages up to 10 pounds such as office supplies or equipment

Environmental Factors This position is in an office environment in which team members occupy desks in assigned areas or at meeting/collaboration spaces within the building. The building’s primary work areas consist of desks, chairs, computers and other office equipment and devices for professional services.

Travel and On-call

This position requires minimal travel (10%) in a national area. For this position being on-call is not required.

  • Potential compensation range for this role is below. The final offer amount could exceed this range, based on various factors such as candidate location (geographical labor market), experience, and skills.
