Job description

QUALIFICATIONS:
JOB SPECIFIC CORE COMPETENCIES:
  • Strong Communication Skills: Supervisor is made aware of finding coverage for classes when substitute instructor is needed, or when lesson needs to be cancelled/rescheduled, checking HWC Email weekly, greeting members with exceptional customer service.
  • Adaptability: Is flexible to needs of members with all backgrounds, gives members full experience at the level that is most appropriate for them, has positive outlook when there is a change in schedule.
  • Growth Mindset: Actively looking to grow their clientele and provide evidence in support of growth
  • Time management: Arrives before start of lesson time to set up and stays after for proper tear down and attends scheduled meetings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Evaluating student's performance and progress
  • Providing feedback to students, parents, and Aquatics Supervisor
  • Track attendance in Club Automation
  • Ensure that all teaching tools are in good working condition
  • Implementing ground rules for each swim session
  • Responds to all emergency situations per facility policy and procedures
  • Maintains continuously all annual education requirements (CBL's) and BLS/CPR certifications
  • Maintains high level of professionalism, in accordance with organizational standards of behavior
  • Is knowledgeable, aware of, and proficient in all facility rules, regulations, and policies, and enforces them when applicable
  • Assumes other duties and projects as assigned
  • Performs safe and effective swim lessons

EXPECTED BEHAVIORS:
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, demonstrate initiative, coordinate and prioritize job functions and complete them in a timely manner.
  • Exhibits tact in working with people.
  • Ability to present technical information in a manner understandable to patients.
  • Demonstrate ability to inspire confidence and behave in a professional manner when dealing with patients, visitors, physicians and other hospital staff.
  • Communicates clearly using both written and oral instruction in English.
  • Offers encouragement and accountability to members and guests to achieve their wellness goals.

MANDATORY LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:
CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation)
ADDITIONAL LICENSURE/CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Prefer 1+ years of recent experience working in a like or similar role
  • BLS (Basic Life Saving)/CPR certification required within 90 days of hire

ADDITIONAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Mandatory Continuing Education: Customer Service, Fire and Safety, Corporate Compliance (including Confidentiality), Infection Control, and education required by regulatory, accreditation bodies, scope of practice, and/or Hancock Regional Hospital.
