Job description

INTERMOUNTAIN FARMERS ASSOCIATION (IFA) is a regional farm supply co-op with diverse operations including feed production, agronomy services, and retail stores throughout the Intermountain West. We are currently seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANT at the IFA Distribution Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITY:
  • Non- CDL Yard truck operation. Safely moving semi-trailers and hooking sets daily around the distribution center grounds

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist in planning routes and load scheduling for multi-drop deliveries.
  • Ensuring all partners in the supply chain are working effectively and efficiently to ensure smooth operations.
  • Make sure loads are accurately loaded with required order items and cross docks.
  • Communicating effectively and respectfully with IFA stores and Customers while responding to their needs.
  • Assistant in directing all transportation activities.
  • Dealing with the effects of IFA's busy spring season.
  • Attention to detail. Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to multi task effectively.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience. Exceptional ability to be the hub of activity at the distribution center by managing multiple task requirements simultaneously. Familiarity with computer systems; which include Microsoft Office and other systems in relation to supply chain management. Attention to detail. Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to multi task effectively. Be able to stoop, bend, lift, push, pull, walk, and stretch, lift 50 lbs., and be on your feet for the duration of your shift. Work around and handle hazardous material properly. Become trained and be able to operate a forklift according to company safety policies. Valid driver's license with clean record.
