Job Summary

The Grease Processor is responsible for mastering all aspects of transforming collected used cooking oil into a high-quality finished product. We are looking for individuals with a strong working knowledge of industrial operations. This role is crucial for our plant's efficiency and involves operating a boiler, heavy equipment, applying practical problem-solving skills to improve processes, and managing finished product shipping.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

  • Take charge of the entire grease processing operation, from receiving raw material trucks and trailers to storing finished goods and preparing them for loadout.
  • Efficiently manage inventory, ensuring optimal use of storage and smooth processing flows.
  • Actively maintain the grease recycling plant's functionality and appearance, including routine cleaning, performing minor maintenance, and painting. This role requires a proactive approach to keeping our facility in top condition.
  • Diligently monitor boiler operation and safety controls to ensure safe and efficient plant performance.
  • Control the flow of material from incoming trucks through process tanks, into finished goods storage, and finally to rail tanker loadout.
  • Perform periodic preventative maintenance on all processing equipment. A solid mechanical aptitude and willingness to get hands-on with repairs are essential for this role.
  • Maintain safety as the absolute top priority in accordance with all company safety rules and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum one (1) year prior experience preferably in a production environment.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exceptional mechanical aptitude and proven equipment troubleshooting abilities. We value skill sets in general mechanics and safe operation of equipment.
  • Basic math skills for inventory and process calculations.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • An ability to deal with minor problems involving equipment or operational situations. We need self-starters who can assess and resolve issues.
  • Completely unbothered by a work environment that has the potential to get dirty, this is a hands-on job where you will encounter grease, oil, and other materials.

Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
  • Frequently you must push, pull, move or lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Regularly required reach with hands and arms.
  • Operates forklift, skid steer, man lifts and any other equipment necessary.

Work Environment

Job functions will be carried out in a used cooking oil recycling facility which requires tolerance for wet and/or slippery floors, and high heat and/or cold temperatures.
