Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) - Riverside, CA

We are looking for a dedicated Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) to join a school-based team in Riverside, California. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students who are deaf or hard of hearing in an inclusive classroom environment while helping them achieve academic and personal success.

Position Details
  • Position: Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH)
  • Location: Riverside, CA
  • Schedule: 37.5 hours per week
  • Contract Length: 1 School Year
  • Start Date: August 17, 2026
  • Setting: Classroom
  • Classroom Environment: Inclusion
Position Responsibilities
  • Provide specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet individual student needs
  • Support students in academic, communication, and social development
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Utilize sign language and other communication methods as appropriate
  • Maintain documentation and participate in educational planning meetings
Compensation
  • Pay Rate: $45/hour
  • Estimated Weekly Gross: $1,687.50

Minimum Requirements:   

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree from an accredited university preferred
  • Valid state teaching certificate as required by state regulations
  • Knowledge in Sign Language and use of amplification devices for the deaf and hard-of-hearing
  • Experience with deaf and hard-of-hearing students preferred
  • ASL proficiency exam or Certification may be required per state, contract or district
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice 
  • Current CPR if applicable 
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable 
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) 
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
