Job description

Position Overview

Inner Canvas Wellness is seeking a dedicated and flexible Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist to join our team on a full-time basis. This remote role requires professionals who are motivated to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families dealing with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with caregivers, providing therapeutic services designed to empower youth and enhance family dynamics.

About the Organization

Inner Canvas Wellness is a Community Health Clinic located in Macon, Georgia, dedicated to delivering comprehensive youth and family support services. Our organization focuses on providing intensive in-community therapeutic interventions to children with exceptional needs. We aim to create a nurturing support system for families navigating the complexities of developmental and intellectual challenges, fostering resilience and growth.

Work Environment

This role offers the flexibility of remote work, allowing our Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist to provide services from a setting that is convenient for both the therapist and the families they serve. While much of the work can be conducted from home, therapists will occasionally visit families in their homes to deliver individualized treatment sessions. This hybrid approach not only facilitates accessibility for clients but also fosters a supportive environment for therapists to meet their needs directly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual in-home therapy sessions and group therapy at our outpatient center, tailoring approaches to meet the unique needs of each child and family.
  • Design and implement therapeutic interventions that promote anger management, coping strategies, social skills, and reduction of high-risk behaviors such as self-injury and aggression.
  • Support families in enhancing their decision-making skills to manage and mitigate behavioral challenges at home.
  • Collaborate effectively with the Child Family Treatment Team and engage with a network of professionals across various disciplines, contributing to comprehensive care plans.
  • Document treatment records comprehensively, ensuring all required paperwork, including intake forms, treatment plans, and progress notes, is submitted in a timely manner.
  • Participate in monthly interdisciplinary meetings to provide insights and recommendations for ongoing care and improvement of therapeutic strategies.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will primarily involve working with children aged 3 to 20 who face developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. You'll address a diverse cross-section of needs, including behavioral issues and emotional difficulties. Your contributions will greatly impact these children's quality of life, enabling them to achieve personal goals and improve interactions within their families and communities.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.
  • An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license is necessary to practice.
  • Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week, especially during after-school hours of 4-7 pm. Weekend flexibility is a valuable asset.
Preferred Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in providing positive behavior support is essential.
  • Prior experience working directly with children aged 3-20, particularly those with intellectual or developmental disabilities (I/DD), is highly desirable.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for home visits are required.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is mandatory.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $75,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive pay structure, our benefits package includes:

  • A dynamic work environment that fosters innovation and collaboration.
  • Opportunities for ongoing professional development and training in therapeutic methodologies.
  • Access to group health coverage, ensuring wellness for you and your family.
  • Annual paid time off to recharge and maintain work-life balance.
  • Short and Long-Term Disability Insurance for added security.
  • A 401K plan to support your financial future.
Career Growth Opportunities

At Inner Canvas Wellness, we are committed to the professional growth of our team members. You will have access to ongoing training sessions and the opportunity to collaborate with experienced professionals across various specialties. As you advance in your career, you may take on leadership roles within therapeutic teams or project initiatives that align with our mission of supporting families in need.

Why Join Our Team

Joining Inner Canvas Wellness means becoming part of a compassionate team devoted to making a difference. We value collaboration, integrity, and innovation in tackling the unique challenges faced by children and families. In this rewarding position, you will have the opportunity to witness firsthand the transformations you help create, contributing to the overall well-being of youth and their families.
